  • Meet Dorothy: My 1967 Volvo P220 (Amazon Wagon)

I wanted to wait until I had more pictures, but I couldn't. Here is the one picture I have of the 1967 Volvo P220 that I bought on Friday, 8/29/2014. I am beyond excited, I've wanted a Volvo since I was about ten years old, and the P220 just about takes my Swedish cake.

The car cost me $500, and is a tune-up and battery away from running. Though the patina is extensive, the car doesn't have any rust holes. It is solid, complete (though the interior does need partial reassmbly), and 80% ready to rock.

    Here are the basics:
    B18 1.8L pushrod 4-cylinder (100hp)
    Dual one-bbl SU side-draft carbs
    -M21 4-speed with overdrive (5-speed)
-Live rear axle with coil springs
    -Dual a-arm independent front end

    And the plans:
    -Get it home
    -Get it stored
-Get rid of the wasps in the front right door
    -Get it running
-Slam it by converting all four corners to coilovers
-New 2.25" exhaust with long-tube header
-Wheels (16x8 front, 16x10 rear American Racing Turq-Thrust D with polished lips and grey centers)
    -MMMMAAAAYYYYYYBE white walls?
    -Surfboards
-Steel Coca-Cola cooler in the trunk
    -Isky cam
-Some basic interior work, maybe some houndstooth

I cannot wait to rip into this little puppy, I've already made a fun little order to motivate myself!

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

Hell yeah, I'll be following this one for sure. These wagons are so cool. Personally, those rusty panels would make me nervous though, especially the roof. You are brave! Look forward to following this

Going by that picture, I sure don't blame you, but I've had a good look through the car inside and out, and it's solid as a rock. Even after sitting for around eight years, there is no rot in the structure parts of the car, just some surface stuff where the paint has worn away.

Thank you very much! I'm not sure if I want to build the B20 or put in a B234H, but wither one will wind up with a pair of Webers.
