  • Coraline!

    Hello yall,
I probably should have started this thread as soon as I started working on the car but better late than never and theirs still loads to be done. Its a 1984 rabbit gti only about 50k ever driven on it and im the second owner (on paper).I bought it for 1500 Named Coraline, decided that's a nice name for a mean and classy look. I just got out of high school and money is at a minimum so this wont be a fast build but im a picture whore so it wont be completely blank. Now to the build so far! Pictures are having trouble uploading but they should be up soon!
    Peace

      Wooden trunk hatch.
The fabric back their was completly shreded and disgusting so i decided it would be a good time to make it wood! still have to shim it around abit so it fits completly flush, but for now its not all that bad.

Better show of the front seats. Their in preatty mint shape. alittle sun bleaching from siting in a yard for a year or two without moving an inch

Exterior, lots of bondo from filling dents and fixing minor rust spots. I deleted the rub strips form the side of the car. once i get a picture of the whole body primed ill post it. i think it makes the whole car look much cleaner and give it the look im going for. Ordered large duckbill front spoiler along with Coils. Sorry about the crap photo quality. i'm horrible with uploading pictures that can only be a certain size. Westy front end will be the next major investment to get rid of those ugly front turn signals.

luckily the previous owner did have the interior in mind while he left it sitting. the door cards are kind of falling apart so ill have to re upholster it but other than that and a few tears its in good shape

First layer of primer down to bring out any left over imperfections from the job. the body line i was going for came out pretty good for what i was expecting. makes the hole car flow better personally. Sadly the weather said that it wasn't going to rain last night little do i know it pours for the whole night and i wake up to a crap paint job. time to sand and respray! Color wise im going to be doing a high gloss black

              something along these lines.

If theyre cardboard door cards, you can use shallack and it'll fix them. A few people on the volvo forum have done this and they turn out great. I'll be doing mine soon

thats what ive heard. as of now i don't know whether i'm going to try to refurbish them or just upholster new ones which i planned on doing down the line anyways.
