  • Static GMC Canyon.

Hey whats up guys. My name is Kyle and I own a 2006 gmc canyon that I have done alot of work to but I will give you a brief overview of my truck.

To start. I bought this truck when I was 16 years old and have had it the last 7 years. It started out as a base model work truck with nothing done to it but a tool box and some aftermarket wheels the old man before me added on.

This is about as stock as i got it. I had taken the tool box off and added a hitch.

I then lowered it 2/3 with coils and blocks and rode like that for awhile. Somewhere in there I added a bed cover and rails got the windows tinted and a few other things.

Then I picked up a set of factory xtreme wheels that were 18x8 and ran a 245/45 tire.

Then I spent a good bit of money on some things to make the exterior better looking.
Street scene gen 1 bumper cover with grills
    Street scene ss mirrors
Cut out the bars on my gmc grill and added in a SS insets
Added 2009+ color matched door handles with chrome pulls
Painted rear bumper and plastics and tailgate handle
S10 smooth gas door as well.
Also picked up a cowl hood after that and never got it painted and ended up selling it.

Did a bunch of other small things like leds on my gauges and cluster, suede headliner and visors, 100sq feet of fat mat and a ton of little odds and ends.

Decided to get my grills powder coated gloss black and I think it made the front end look 10x better.

Next I went from a 2/3 drop down to a 4/5 drop. I added 2'' balljoints and pulled a leaf from my pack and got a frame notch.

Rode around like this for along time until I blew out 2 of the tires on my xtremes and was broke as hell so I rode on my shitty steelies for a few months.

Added a set of Michigan Metal Works upper control arms that are 1/4'' longer to get rid of my camber I had.

    Interior.

Winter came and I finally broke down and ordered a set of snow tires and drove around all winter in snow with no problems.

Couldnt tuck my tires and they were rubbing my bed side pretty bad so I pulled my bed sides out a good inch on each side.

Spring time came and the steelies went back on and I started saving up for a big project.

Started ordering parts to go alittle lower and fix my damn ABS.

      2 new hubs.
      Rotors
      Pads
LCA bolts and bushings and camber adjustment stuff
      4'' lowering blocks
      3'' leaf springs
      0-2'' adjustable sturts
Im sure I am missing a few things.

Put the truck into the garage and got it up on jack stands and started take her all apart. 9 years of being in the Northeast and dealing with the winters up here and salt sucks. Everything was rusted to beyond shit. It gave me hell the whole time.

Truck sat like that for about a month. Between getting sent wrong parts 3 different times and my grandfather dying I wasnt having much luck. Finally got everything in and started getting shit back together.

Hand to grind out my LCA and tried to add new bushing but they wouldnt come out even with a bushing press at my work. So I left work one night drove a 3 hour round trip to baltimore to pick up a set off my buddy and got home and started getting to work.

All the bolts that were taken off were cleaned up or replaced.

During the process of doing so I picked up 2 used 245/45/18 tires for my xtremes and got them mounted.

Progress was being made even though it was still cold as shit outside.

      Then finally this happened!!!

Truck was on its wheels! Now sitting at a 6/7'' drop!

Getting out of my drive was is pretty fun right now.

Added some hood sturts that made a HUGE difference.

Then my pops picked up this SUPER NICE trailer for his corvette. I messed around for along time making some ramps so I was able to get onto it with out scraping all that badly.

Then this happened. I took off my hitch cleaned up under my bed and my frame cut some shit so I didnt rub as badly. Same with up front.

112k miles and always parked outside I still like to keep her as clean as I can!

And this brings us to today!

Went to Grounded 4 Life last weekend and got some good rollers on the way up. If anyone drives on 95 around the airport and up in philly they know how bad the roads are! I was destroying the road the whole way. Buddy said I was throwing sparks every mile. Hit some real nasty shit and just closed my eyes but didnt do to much damage!

I have a few up comming thing that I am working on. I am picking these up on thur. Enkei RT6 18x8.5 with a 3'' lip!

Not the best chop but you get the idea. Gonna run my 245/45 on them until I can afford some new smaller tires.

Have some more plans for the end of the summer and this fall/winter!

Picked these up yesterday. Enkei rt6 18x8.5 0 offset. 1 is brand new the other 3 are used. Cleaned 1 up tonight and thought it turned out pretty good. Still needs more cleaning and then to polish it.

Spent about 8 hours today cleaning them up.

Have a few more hours worth of cleaning till I'm happy. They still need to be polished and what not.

Also just ordered some tires. 4 Pirelli p6 235/40/18 that will be here on Wednesday.

Looks great, just needs a little spacer to push it just perfect. IMO.
