My god this is beautiful haha. Definitely some well deserved low for all that effort. It looks amazing. How stiff are the springs you're running?
edit: Ooops, sorry I just read it. Haha.

Ghetto fix idea... 2 hose clamps around the bump stop to support them a bit...Good plan right? Well I'm lazy and dumb, instead of removing the shock and sliding them onto the shock, I just cut the bumpstops top to bottom so I could pop them on while the shocks are still on the car. Now their structural integrity is gone. So even though the shock is resting on these weakened bump stops, the wheels still hit, although less often. Oh well at least I tried.
Or just do it the right way
Sweet car! A seriously dedicated ride height!

Damn this thing is cool! Obviously a lot of work to get that low and daily it!
I do love the look with black lips though very nice indeed!

Thanks for all the love everyone! Much appreciated! So I realized this thread has become more of a photosharing thing as opposed to an actual build thread, so I figured I would show you guys the work I did to go lower this last week. Here was step one: Replace my cracked trans mount
IMG_4269 by nickwochok, on Flickr
I'm so glad this thing never had a catastrophic failure. Despite having a good amount shaved off and three big cracks, the only symptoms was a slight jutter on launches. Once I replaced that, I wanted to protect the new one, so I shaved it down just a hair so it wouldn't hang too low once I welded up this small skidplate I made.

I measured and cut the steel, but my friend who welded it made a little smiley face on the bottom
Next on the list was to extend my frame notch. All I've had to do the notch was a 20 year old dremel so this took a while.

Luckily due to the design of the frame this is only necessary to do on the passenger side. And don't worry i painted the notch after I took this pic. Also, I had to unclip, bend up, run the ac line along the frame, and zip tie it to a brake line, because if you look at the small curved indent on the rubber axle sleeve, it's been rubbing on the line. It used to be clipped in at that square hole, and compared to its new position it hung a good 2cm lower. Both of these mods worked great, no more rubbing yay!

I needed more camber to go lower, So I had to slot my upper strut bolt holes in, and the lower bolt holes out, while running a camber bolt in each hole. All of that to get maybe -3.5 degrees, stupid Fit suspension doesn't allow for the use of camber plates or any other method to get camber.

Kind of hard to tell how big the slots are in that crappy pic but the grooved metal you can see if the spindle not the strut, so the slots are pretty much as big as I can make them without risking the lower mount failing. That's it for the front. Now to slam the rear. To do that I bought 4" 11kg Hyperco springs to replace my old 6" 8kg Swift Springs.

And I used to think those Swifts were short haha. So problem, the Swifts are 70mm ID like they are supposed to be. The Hypercos are 65mm, so they are too small to fit on the perches. I knew this going into it, nobody makes a 4" 70mm ID spring. So solution is to lathe my perches down to a 65mm OD.

Not bad for my first time lathing metal. Look how silly those springs look installed

Now with this crazy low rear height, I need to prevent the wheels from hitting the fenders. So I bought 3 bump stops for each side to stack so they engage just before the wheels hit.

That's pretty much everything I did to go lower! Aside from pulling my fenders a bit more. I've got a Mugen rear lip I ordered that should be coming at the end of the week. I'm going to install that and straight pipe the car. That's pretty much the only remaining plans I have for the car this season, I just want to enjoy it. My next big show is Gridlife in Michigan at the end of May. Hope to see some of y'all there!

Strange thread... Killer Fit tho. Wish I could put my daily that low, but I lose enough pieces of the bottom already... Nice work!

Well I think it's time for an update. My car was in Tuner Galleria, and I took Best Stance, super cool to get another award for my hard work. Here's a pic from the show:
Lowered Lifestyle by nickwochok, on Flickr
I went back to oem skirts, painted my old sideskirt splitters black, and went to an unpainted sti lip for this season. I also went to Import Alliance Atlanta so some of you guys may have seen me there. Here's a shot from that:

That's not really what I'm posting for right now. These last couple weeks I've been buying parts and prepping my car to go lower. And last weekend I finally made it happen. It was lot of work to go just a couple millimeters lower but the results were so worth it. I got 4" rear springs, had to lathe my perches to make them work, extended my frame notch, relocated my AC line, slotted my strut holes more, made rear bumpstops, pulled all my fenders more, made a skidplate to protect my trans mount which I had to replace, etc. I got the height dialed in, and yesterday my car got shot for KillAllFenders. I really love how these pictures turned out and I think my car looks so insane now. I've been trying to achieve this height and fitment for the last year and a half. I finally did it. Enjoy:

Even seeing my own car at this height is staggering. Im not sure how its even able to roll down the street but I love it. Make sure to follow me on Instagram @fitthestance for far more frequent updates, thanks

Holly S... That is a low static car. There is now way I could be that low and not adjustable. Good job, can't wait to see more.
