Finally got around to replacing the bonnet heat shield. It was a bitch to do!!! The old one was basically just powder on top of the glue and the glue was a nightmare to get off. The whole thing took about 4 hours to do start to finish and the wife did allot of the work.
Removed the bonnet:

Busy Cleaning:

I am really happy with how it came out._____________________________MY BUILD THREAD_____________________________

So the heater control valve broke where the rubber water pipe connects causing coolant to leak. A google search revealed that a replacement part would cost around R3000 to R4000. Found a post on myE28.com where they explain how to install a manual valve so this is the plan, will need to get a new U shaped hose from BMW first so I have just capped the hoses off for now.
Met a guy the other day who drives a red 525e and he showed me that he installed the front lip from a VR6 golf to his car I decided to do the same over the weekend.
I also repaired some broken plastic bits and respraid them, cleaned up the numberplate by removing the bracket and I closed up the broken fog lights.
All and all a busy weekend, but I am happy with the results, the car looks allot cleaner now._____________________________MY BUILD THREAD_____________________________

Finally managed to resolve the massive oil leak, half the sump bolts where stripped, so they had to drill them out and install new threads. So no more oil leaks !!!
I actually installed a new steering wheel, was lucky enough to pick up a original MOMO wood wheel from a BMW.
You can also see in the photo that I have been gluing the cracks in the dash so I can take it out and have it wrapped in leather._____________________________MY BUILD THREAD_____________________________
