Oh wow, you've really gone through with a proper engine build! How about the intake manifold and TB, were those ported as well to support the higher airflow?

I love the sound of low displacement properly modified 4 cylinders, when it's done you have to post an exhaust clip!

We need more people that are as passionate about these things as you are around here!

It still runs on the stock exhaust. I want to go for full stainless with spaghetti manifold. Then I will post a sound clip

Been busy the whole saturday. Head is on, distribution is on, etc etc.

And then I ran out of time. My girl started to complain 'bout lack of attention last couple of weeks. Still have to do: axle's, stabilisor, hooking up the wiring (plug and play) hoses, radiator, intake, exhaust, fluids.
Hoping to complete it all the next couple of days without upsetting my girl.

Haha women! My wife is the same way of course.

Well when you get a chance, keep building. You obviously know what you're doing. I'm the same way about liking cars most aren't into, I just don't have the time to build them all.

Women need attention, no news to that I'm just happy she doesn't mind the money spending on it

Finished building in the engine. Still need to do the fluids and then start her up.

Had some welding done and new MOT:

Got her on the dyno: https://youtu.be/-TZk0xu1Kt4
1st run: 61whp, last run 86whp. Not bad, considering the engine is stock and worse the exhaust is the stock exhaust from the old 8v engine.

And then I got her to the first meeting of the year:

So now it looks like I'm finally done with everything under the hood (for now). So I can get started with the exterior.

                - gti side moldings, white with decals
                - new quarterpanels, without rot (not visible on the pictures, the rot is behind the sideskirts)
                - new coat of black on the bumpers
                - quick refurbish on the widened steelies for the time being
                - continue refurbish on the 3-piece SSR's
                - fender flares
                - bit more low
                - etc

Some pictures at Japan Classic Sunday:

I've done the sidetrim in color with gti logo's

                  Next:
                  - redo bumpers, they don't align, and needs to be reblackened
                  - I've got my fender flares ready, but first finish the SSR's and then make the flares fit and paint them white
                  - orderded new outerlips for the SSR's, front will go 7J and back will go 9J
                  - then I have to try some different tires in order to see what I like.
                  - Ordered a carbon hood
                  - Ordered poly front quarterpanels
                  - still have a rollcage that needs to be welded in

                  So, progress is being made!

New outer rim barrels! Custom made, not very cheap...

                    Front total: 7.5x13"
                    Rear total: 9.5x13"

Wil see how they fit with the fender flares this weekend. Then I have to find some rubber, witch will be hard and costly.

Also removed the interior, fur some fixing and removing of wire-ing. And to prepare for the rollcage.

                    Edit:
Also I've sold the Baleno/Esteem before summer and got myself an 2.0 16v petrol Toyota Avensis Executive Estate from 2006, a family-hauler.

Finally got the tires, not much choice in the 13" segment. Got Toyo Proxes 175-60-13 on the front 7,5J and Nankang NS-2 195-60-13 on the rear 9,5J. Currently I'm running 165-70-13 on the 6,5J widened steelies.

                          Here are some teasers:

No working on some elektrical problems, my dash can go back in and then it's of to the welder for the rollbar. After that interior can go back in and I can start making the wheels fit with some 90mm flares.

this is a great thread. The bay is really nice. Those wheels are going to make the car. The valve stems are a nice touch. Definitely needs to a lot lower though.

More low on this car isn't easy. As is everything else. There is nothing plug and play on the market. But I have plans for the front The rear is a bit more difficult, because leafsprings.
