  • Chicago e46 330ci stance build

Hey guys whats up, my names Kevin Im from Chicago, Im new to posting on forums, but you gotta start somewhere; so bear with me. Give some background on my car history; first I started out with a s13 hatch at the age of 16, then bought a 96 corolla as a daily, then blew the motor on s13 fixed it, sold it and and so on and so fourth within in a period of 2 years, ended up going through about 6 cars just by being bored with them. I was always admiring peoples builds that I saw on here, but I always thought my car was just never good/nice enough to really even bother making a build thread on it, But now haha Id say this car is a really presentable car now. its a 2003 330ci. I've owned it a little over 9 months now and this is what I have done so far ENJOY!

    first my previous cars
first s13 hatch the black one

e36 328ic and yes I still had my corolla daily haha parked right next to it

and the last and final car before the 330ci... another s13 hatch

So now finally The 2003 Bmw 330ci; Initial plans was to keep this car all stock and just use it as a daily and in a few months down the road buy another drift car... well things didnt go as planed but in a good way haha! Bought it from a family friend who was the owner since the car had around 28k miles; I got it with 117k miles, all maintenance car was in tip top shape ( and keep in mind this is the newer car I've ever owned so I was stoked!)
Heres a picture a few days later after the initial purchase in November, 2013

Sorry for the Iphone pics but thats all I have guys; no fancy dancy camera here

The car stays the way I bought it on the contours for a few months, then one day out of curiosity wanted to test fit my buddy's bbs lm reps 19x8.5/10 while still on stock suspension

Ill continue on more tomorrow in the morning, but for now please enjoy! thanks!

As soon as tax season came around I was so tired of the car being without tints that was the first thing I did to it. Front 35% Rears 20% AND it changed the whoole car!

Later than day or maybe even before I went to go get the the tints done I have placed an order for Raceland Ultimo Coilovers. It was sucha a bipolar feeling being I was going to keep the car all stock and not do a damn thing to it... But I said f**k it want to look dope for summer time *please ignore the snapchat woohoo

heres the only pic I actually took while installing haha
also I used Impala SS front sway bar links since they are a lot shorter than stock ones

ANNND few hours later; also painted the front grille black

heres a Pic few days later with my buddys e36

soon enough I started getting bored of just the m contours so I tired on the bbs lm's after the coil install as well, because my original intension was to buy these wheels from him, because not a lot of people sell 5x120, but if they do prices are sky high
I wasn't 100% satisfied with the way it looked; it looked good but too boring...

I kept on telling him, "Ill let you know" I just simply couldn't decide. Later on that week going across facebook for sale groups as I normally do. I couldn't believe it... gs300 with style 95s... AND THEY WERE FOR SALE! lucky, and they were up for cheaaap
I knew I had to pick these up asap! They came with tires fronts:225/35/19 and rears were:235/35/19. Here is one hour after I picked them up.

Front just BARELY cleared, but those tires were trash anyways so I then just ordered one size down

the rear needed the most attention because the quarter panel just ran right on the tire, so it was between a smaller tire or rear camber arms; so I just first when with the rear arms because the tires were still really meaty.
Put the arms on and test fitted the wheels and it wasn't going to clear at all so we were going to have to raise the back height (it was maxed out); and so that was another day
Here it is finally after cambering and raising the rear about an inch and removing that stupid 3/4 of an inch sealant that was in back... complete pain in the ass.

under acceleration the car war still rubbing in the rear so I let that be and said whatever itll fix itself haha, and it did! shaped the rear inside of the bumper a bit but it was fine
Now I wanted to start getting a little creative with the car; I made my own side splitters out of 1/4in plexiglass, cut them to size 78x6, rounded the edges and painted them gloss black and boom (here front tires were already installed and also painted black the ugly orange reflectors)

The side splitters looked good but something in the front was missing... so off ebay I ordered a H style Front lip for 80bucks! and boy it changed the car! made it so much more aggressive

Now at this Point I though I was done with the car; others plans were to do a simple muffler delete and get a rear diffuser of a s2000. SO I ended up trading the contours for tsw nurburgring wheels 17x8 squared plus cash on top. And my plan was to just resell those to make up for the money I wanted to get for the contours; ONCE AGAIN! Came across a sweet opportunity. Fellow local bmw owner purchased a Status Gruppe CF CSL trunk for his sedan, somehow someway he purchased one that fits a coupe, wish I knew how.. but he posted the trunk up for sale or trade for some wheels; So I offered him what the hell why not Ill see. and look what I got in my possession now

Here it is after install along with the muffler delete with 2 2.5in tips coming out,
BMW logo is on the way!

After maybe a month of having the wheels on the car I started to feel some swaying in the rear; initial thought... RTABS... but no tires were just poop... ordered a pair one size down also to a 225/35/19
