One from driving her to work yesterday since the MK1 was down. I fixed the shift rod bushing on the mk1 yesterday after work, so it has all its gears again and then put the Mk3 back up until the next nice day.
So I sold my 82 Rabbit last week that I daily drove so I could drive the MK3 more. I has sat most of summer besides for coming out for shows and weekend drives & that made me really get bored with the car because I was not enjoying it. This car should not just be couped up all the time. So I sold the rabbit and put the mk3 back into daily use.
Bye Bye rabbit.
Now the one thing I had to do was raise the car up to be able to daily drive it. I drove it for about 3 days at the height I set months ago and it was a nightmare to drive. I would hit subframe on just about anything in the road. It was fine and put up with it when it was not a daily driver but I cant keep that up because its only a matter of time until I hit something just right and KO the subframe and possible the subframe mounts in the frame. So I raised the car about 1.5".
The old height.
Rasied up about 1.5"
But there was another reason I sold the Rabbit. I ordered a full Air Lift V2 set up yesterday from Orchid Euro who is now a official Air Lift dealer. So that should be going on pretty much as soon as ups drops it off at my house. I'm hoping to be able to lay frame with a few little notches (tie-rod & control arms) Already have modded early strut mounts. I have a little under and 1" to lay frame which almost tucks a 15. (sorry about the fender, they are getting worked on soon.)
In other news I'm about 85% sure I can't go to H2O this year due the fact I close on my first home on the 19th. It's still up in the air but my main focus is getting me and the lady into the new home. Picture of said home.
The axles notch is already done since it was needed when I was static but I know the tie-rod notchs (or tie-rod flip & ball joint extenders) will be needed because they dont have 1" to move up & the sway bar will be cut out as well because I believe it is in the way at a point.
I need to take a look at the rear motor mount to make sure its not like a ABA where it will need notched so the axle can come up.
And thanks for all the congrats. I'm looking forward to working on the mk3 to let some stress out from everything I have do to get the house and loan in order.
