Let the car sit for 24 hours and then went to the garage to see if it would start. Fired right up. Now to just drive the car this week to make sure it's good for the 4 hour trip to euro hanger.

      Love this car, looks great!

I saw it at SoWo, so it's nice to see the build.

Are you going to shorter harder springs so you can go a little lower?

I have thought about getting short and stiff springs but honest cant go much lower in the front at all without doing some notching from the tierods on the frame and on the rear motor mount for the axle. I'm honestly looking at going air just to take some stress off me when I'm driving on long trips and unkown roads.

No crazy updates. I moved out of my old home and moved in with the girlfriend to save more money and get a down payemnt together to buy a home but her house does not have a garage. So I went and got a storage unit to put my tools and the Van in for the time being or until I find a shop or garage space with someone.
Then this past weekend the shift rod bushing on the mk1 went MIA so I lost R,1,2 &5th gear. I got it to the unit and swapped out the mk3 for the mk1. Go to fix it tonight but must say I have no problem driving the MK3 to work, makes my morning just a bit better.

Here is a few pictures for now. Getting ready fro H2O here soon.

It's all Oem parts. They had mk2 & mk3 version. Im not sure about mk4, I see some pop up but not sure if VW made the panels like they did for the mk2 & mk3. Here is an old ad for a mk2 van.

How do you find the ride on the modified early upper strut bushings?

Honestly the ride feels the same as it did with the HD mounts. The CX's ride great & smooth for me at this height. not really bumpy or anything like that.

Really like this kind of build, good stuff. Not often I find myself enjoying a VAG build either!

I find it funny how all the UK VAG guys strive to be Euro, yet the Americans are running UK plates! Just goes to show how different countries, even continents are happy to switch it up and show their respects.

The RHD swap and 1.6 swap is just to be different. In the US you are really not going to see that combo. Pretty much very show or meet I go to with the car most have no idea what the engine is and it fun to share that with people.

As for the flares it's just not my cup of tea. I feel like it was to much black texture on the white. Plus the flares would be held on by body molding tape at this point with rolling all the arches which I personally just dont like.

Thank you! I honestly really dont get into any VAG builds anymore unless they are older models.

I just personally think the euro parts look better. The smaller bumpers look better, the euro hatch is so nice compared to the US hatch which have that stupid plastic plate tub that makes the hatches rust out so easy.
But I agree that it is really neat to see how people in different countries build their cars in different whys and styles.
