Picked up another e30. this one is a beat 84 318i 5 speed. This is my second one, maybe third if you count my brothers that i have done work on. Scooped it up off of craigslist from a kid my age (19). It was going to be a "drift car" just like every other sub $1500 e30 online. Picked up it up for a grand, which is more than I wanted to pay, but it had to be saved. Drove it home 60 miles with 4 tires that all showed wire, no gauges, destroyed wheel bearing, and almost no power, but it's an e30. Just driving them makes you smile. Anyway here is the car.

The morning after I got it. Assembled the entire grill and valance.

The car was spray bombed. That didn't come out as expected so the kid plastidipped it.

    Original color.

M10 in all of its glory. Ran well, but pissed oil from the pan and the rear of the motor. Suspected that the distributor gasket was bad, it was.

Since it was going to be a drift car, first order of business was to sticker bomb it right?! All of the stickers have been removed except from the rear console.

    End of day one.

The car is L-Jetronic injected. The ICM on the firewall died. Went to Guten Parts and Service down the road and got a new one. Fired right up again!

Got tired of the valance being white. Just shot it with some black enamel.

Finished the front end. Don't think I'm going to run a front diving board. Idk I like the looked currently, plus diving boards suck!

Rear is on though. I don't want to hear about the lights. I have a set of oem ones that are waiting to go one. Need to order the rubber impact strip though.

    Mine and my brothers ix.

Don't really know that plan for it yet, as I am currently also building a m52/s52 shaved bay late model coupe.

So I came home from work today because it was slow. Decided to tackle the wheel bearing. Went well, it's nice when you have all of the right tools!

    All done.

The inner race was wiped out.

    Just chilling in the driveway....

    ..Along with this lol

Just ordered maintenance stuff. Doesn't run anymore because the rotor just died on the distributor, but it's an easy fix. Maybe it will get painted this weekend idk yet.

Sweet pickup, the M10 is bulletproof like the M20. Thinking about keeping it M10 or swapping? Sub'ed.

I think I am going to keep the m10 till it blows. I know a guy with a semi together s14 that I might be able to snag. I am mean that would be awesome but we will see. The fate of this car depends on how well I can make it look. If the paint job I put on it is a 7 or better, I'm going to 5 lug it throw it on a track (auto x and other events). If it sucks, it's going to fly through the woods

Didn't get anything on the e30 done today. Spent all day working on the boat with the old man.

Moved into the garage infront of the other e30.

          89 325is. shaved bay, m52/s52 hybrid behind a zf 5 speed

Few more hours and it should be ready for paint.

Pretty sweet passat wagon I saw at home depot.

Got a lot of the chrome on it. We need to paint the water line (where the varnish meets the red) but it's getting really really close.

Also worked on this beast last night. Kept throwing the belt off. Power steering pump shaft had a lot of play in it. Idk why either, it only has 225k lol. I need to make a separate thread for that too sometime.

Waiting for parts for the e30 really. Glass guy is coming this week to do the windshield. Once it's a good runner, fun parts will be ordered!

I'd pass on the S14, they are cool but pricey especially when you have to rebuild them, you'd get a lot more bang for your buck with a 24v

Yea I know. I more or less want it to stroke the current M10 I have. Would be a lot less work than doing a 24v swap, plus it would allow it to still be very light, not that a 24v swap adds much weight.

Got the windshield put in along with new molding. Looks pretty snazzy.

A buddy of mine is coming over tonight with H&R race springs and billies. Want to get the springs in tonight and maybe the shocks if I feel up to it. Probably update this again tonight!

Adding 50-100 pounds for an extra 100hp to 150hp is worth it imo.

Was going to clean the garage today, so my brother and I took both of mine. Took some photos and didnt clean the garage lol.

Started to get the plastidip off of the 318. Been using a DA and its been a pain. Going to finish sanding it tonight. Hopefully I'll have it completely painted by Monday!
