  • Deutsche Garage: my w124 and e30

So have made an intro previously to my e30 and recently acquired w124 300te. So now that spring quarter has ended progress will be made! This will be a build thread for both my cars and I will just update as i do things. Sorry ahead of time. I don't have a good camera so most pics will be crappy iPhone shots.
Okay so this is my w124
It's a 1992 with about 160k. Got it for dirt cheap. Plans for now are rear non sls conversion, ford 4600 shocks from a ranger. And front e36 coils. Not sure on the wheels yet for the front. But here are some shipped pics of what I kinda want

It will be the daily and the e30 will probably get most of the attention and paychecks.

and now for the e30. I purchased the car when i was almost 17, after selling my subie. I picked her up for 900 bucks, and now i think it wasnt even worth that.

It needed new everything. About the only thing good about it was the color, which is probably the only reason i bought the car, ( delphin metallic, but needed to be reapainted obviously) and it had no rust what soever.
Skip a few years, i got it running

changed the top, painted, lowered somewhat, wheels, and other comsetic stuff.

      and redid the interior

Between fall and winter I managed to get I to an accident. I learned how to body work and fixed everything myself with the exception of getting a piece of core support rewelded. I turned out really good I think and I joined around with a crappy front end for a while

        Primered

        And finally painted

But I did t get to enjoy it long. About a month later. My rod bearings started to go out. So instead of driving it till I completely blew the engine I quickly took it apart and started to build something I'd always wanted todo. I higher compression 2.7i hybrid. So I pulled the head and took it to the machine shop. Got a crack welded. Fully rebuild head. Shaved .27 mm for the higher compression, and small port on the exhaust
        Before

        After

And I had a spare eta block that I also rebuilt.

        Chemically cleaned
        Painted and assembly .
Lightened flywheel and put on a stage 3 clutch
        And putting everything back in.
Few days later finally got it started (took a whole because of finals) and this is it now
Currently saving up for new suspension (Megan coilovers)
And revshift bushings for the rear subframe. Oh I forgot to mention so the first time the car was painted, someone effed up the color and it wasn't original, so after the wreck I had the whole car resprayed again at a different shop the factory color I am much more satisfied with it now.
Still getting some small issues sorted out with the e30 but I really love this 2.7i set up. It's not a huge hp difference but the power and itself is so much better. No matter where you are there is always power. I'm really happy with it.

Yes me to. I'm honestly looking forward to seein it for the first time. It's in California right now (I know. Sketchy purchase) but my dad is on business in Cali all the time so he picked it up for me and will be driving it up to WA this weekend. According to him interior is great just could use a good clean. Exterior has in small dent. And the clear coat on the roof is peeling pretty bad. Tranny shifts a bit hard from first to second but Lucas might solve that. No engine or tranny leaks. Not bad for 500 bucks. Definetly a lot more going into it. I'm trying to source wheels but I just can't make up my kind in what I want. Somewhere down the road there probably be either a turbo build or amg swap ( after I'm done with m60b44 hybrid swap for my e30)
