I am building a 1985 Subaru Brat. It is being prepped for painting at the moment and i am pulling the Ej22T from a 1994 legacy touring wagon to put into the brat, to replace the 1.8 liter EA81 engine. It has a 5-speed 4x4 manual transmission in it already and i am going to use that until i can afford to do a full STI 6-speed manual swap including the rear differential, all axles, hubs and matching coilovers (will take some custom fabrication to fit in). I have just acquired 2005 STI seats to put in the car and am ordering new carpeting to custom cut my own new carpet. All support is appreciated!

I will keep updating the imgur account with photos and explain where I'm at on here. Right now i am doing some body work to fill and pull dents before i paint it. Bondo sucks to work with... Pulled the radiator from the legacy yesterday as well to slowly continue preparing for the engine pull from that. The intake manifold has already been removed as well as the down pipe and the full exhaust from the manifold back. The Brat has been final sanded and the original carpet removed. Black carpet is in the mail and i am working with the guys at 425 motorsports in Bellevue Washington to figure out how to fit some custom seat rails into the Brat because the stock rails off of the 2005 STI seats i have acquired sit the seat too high for the brat and the 6 feet of me (the top of my head just peeks out the t-tops). Probably going to work with planted seat brackets and try mounting them upside down to sit super low in the cab. I can't wait to see how the paint looks, Im going for a very similar blue to the interlagos blue from BMW.

Oh hells yeah.
I've been waiting for someone to do this... A Brat's been on my top-ten list of odd shit that I would do if money, space, time, and a patient wife would allow... right up there with a old AMC Eagle wagon in a pre-runner style ridiculousness ...but I digress.
Looking forward to the build!IG: @PiscitelliDesign
