I have never seen someone try and dye black leather to be lighter.....that doesn't make sense to me

I know all of that exists but when used to go dark to light, I hear it doesn't work out so well and requires much more product to even look semi decent.

So does that end up bleaching the leather or is it really more of a paint than a dye?

And after that I did the doors..
First you're using a rejuvenator-oil and let it be 48h...
with the oil
removed the interiorhandles and the old paint with cellulose:
Result:
sanded it and threw some paint on:
tadaa:

wiped off the oil with a wet soft cloth
the water before:
and after a wipe:
sanded it and cleaned it:
the paint...:
applied thin layers first:
First layer:
Three layers that is dry:
took off the paper:
and mounted the details again:
a small before & after:
