a guy i knew builds a hotrod and his frame is buttwelded together with open ends..and it holds up well. its not pretty but it doesnt have to be . know what i mean? it doesnt have to be a showframe or something with some super extensive metalfabrication..just hold together and been solid..nothing more
At least the guy knows how to make a good support for the springs, unlike your flat steel that's just butt welded to the frame... which also doesn't have any bracing at all.
I am working with the same motor right now. I am currently trying to build a expansion exhaust. Are you considering doing this, and are you gonna put the engine cover back on? I just ordered electronic ignition for my setup last week as well as bunch of other stuff.

Yes, "Big Bubble". I ordered the 120mm drop from Trabantwelt, I really wanted to go for the 180mm, but I figured it would not be drivable with the family in it anymore, so I kind of had to compromise. My motor is very dirty, trying to clean right now, and simplify everything.
