  • Daisy - Slow Honda Build Thread

Hi guys, My name is Donald Some of you might have seen my 1983 Toyota Pickup Build (Why my name is 83yota). Well she's gone, I decided I wanted something new so I sold the pickup and bought a 1997 Honda Civic LX for $1600 from a tow yard.

It was 100% stock except for an after market alarm, and that is what I wanted if i was to buy a Honda. It had some pretty good fender damage and the rear bumber needs the rest of the fasteners. And the trunk is misaligned about 1-2mm up.

I've had the car for a while but didn't want to post anything until i had some actual progress. And within the net 2-3 weeks she will be 3.5 to 4 inches lower.

Here are some pictures of when i first got her. You can also see the fender damage. I'm the guy with the black beanie on.

Then I De-badged her and bought some cheap taillight tinting paint. I still need to buy some Goo-Gone to get rid of the glue. (Sorry for the finger haha )

I also got a Star Wars Storm Trooper sticker for my back window

Then i decided the silver stock rims weren't good enough. So i painted them white

And right now i am currently waiting for some paint to dry but i did order some cheap lowering springs for now.

Next on my list is some window tinting, Lowered, New type-r grille, Finish my sound system, And wood floor trunk floor.

    Until Next Time

        Update

So i fixed my trunk so it sits flush with the quarter panels it was about 2mm higher.

I cheaply fixed the front fender and painted it.

I'm going to buy a new one and repaint the entire car. I forgot to mention i installed a Spec-D Short Throw Shifter and red stich shift boot. (Needs to be cleaned)

I have a Dual Stereo and the car is still running strong with 288988 miles on it it just needs a tune up.

        Until Next Time

Take that tint off of the tails.

Are your coil sleeves in that tattered ass box? How the hell do they fuck up the box that bad, knowing that it could possibly contain valuable things.

Looks pretty decent considering how many miles it has. Keep us updated, I want to see how this turns out

I don't see how this can end well with those "coilovers".

Those coilovers are going to make you pounce all over the place..... That's why they're so cheap.

As far as the O-rings, those go over the shock before you put on the coilover. There's so many because you have to find the right size. It makes it so they don't move side to side. The other thing you have there is a tool to help you move the perch up and down. One for the top and one for the bottom.

You might just want to save up and get a better set-up either way. Not knocking what you have just letting you know, you will NOT like it.

^They will ride bad. Especially with standard shock. And your shocks wont last long so it will get worse. But Hopefully you save your ass off asap :P

I know they will ride like shit, My buddy had a similar set on his Accord. I'm just looking for a "for now" low, I'm tired of being 2 feet in the air haha. And they are just for now, I've been looking at a set of Raceland coilovers, Then saving up for for XYZ's or something similar.

And thanks for the help about the O-Rings
