As you can see, the big girl is a bit of a handful/im a bit of a gumby hahah
Stock lsd was gettting pretty lazy by the end of the night and frying the inside tyre and making me understeer. So new diff tomorrow, some better steer tyres and shorter gearing and we'll see how she goes on friday
Still needs stiffer rear springs, sway bars and urethane bushes haha

Almost forgot, so this happened today...

lugging a stack of tyres and wheels to the tyre shop and had to jump on the brakes and a wheel came through between the seats and smashed the knob
After grtting to the shop and home by grappling with the little stub that was left of my gearstick I set about fixing it.
Luckily I have a spare t56 in the shed I could raid the shifter off.
Unluckily, the spare shifter had been modified in a less than professional fashion. .

Its pretty shithouse but itll do for now
      All fixed

Will get my hands on a ripshifter eventually, hopefully this holds up until then.

the CV8Z bar works with our headlights so that is the one any of us US guys would be looking for. I have been looking at several of the hsv rep kits just because they are inexpensive and different and I can get RK sport skirts (reps of hsv skirts) here in US to match the bumpers. I found a couple reps on aussi ebay for uner $1k which is tempting to me

Awesome build by the way! our interiors match haha

Most of the ones I have seen are dura flex or some sort of plastic. I know they can't be "cool" and/or maybe respectable way to go about it when there are real hsv's running around. Kinda like how I'd guess I feel about non-M 3-series bmw's with m3 bumpers but over here. But the $600 before shipping cost of the rep panels is a lot more enticing than jhp's panels at like $8000 lol.

Have a look through holmart man, you might find what you're after.
Edit* just had a look through, no monaro stuff sorry guys

Long time coming but heres some footage fron one of my skidpan runs, I must apologise for the camera angle, pan was alot wetter then I thought haha
All the rest of my footage for the night was too dark
New alignment was amazing, zero degrees toe,11 degrees castor, -3 degrees camber, steering was so precise, loved it. new diff and shorter diff gears were also a winner, could get so much more angle now it wasnt torching the inside tyre during transitions.
                    Anyway, heres the footage, enjoy

                          Quick update time!
                          Okay so since time I;
                          got the wagon filthy

                          Took photos
Took the front bar off to fix stuff

Made usefull use of the wagon to carry awesome stuff for my mate

Seriously though, check out his build thread.. its awesome (http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=57553)
                          Anyway!
Scored a free oil cooler off a 32gtr for my powersteering

failed to decide what I want to do with the varrstoens

Gave the dirty girl a bath

                          Did some more skids

Got shitted off with my shitty hack job shifter (see previous page) and bought a new one

So tomorrow im going back over to dioxides house to help him get his ve/g8 ready for an upcoming event and hopefully fit my cooler and shifter, then on friday I get new swaybars and polyurethane everything to hopefully reduce the loose feeling it currently has.
Definitely have lost all illusions of this being a sensible daily haha

Re: Aussie SS wagon and the unexpected quest for stance

Been really slack, time for an update.
                            Fitted the power steering cooler

                            Fitted the ripshifter (its awesome!)

Went drifting again, was running wayyyyyyy too much castor (12degrees) so the steering was a bit off and running bulk pos camber on outside wheel. But swaybars and solid bushes along with new rear shocks made a HUGE improvement and the wagon was sliding better than ever!

Sort of a spear of the moment decision, I loaded the wagon and drove 450km south througglh the night on no sleep to check out a new drift series that had just been founded, had an awesome day and the car surprised me with how well it could still cruise even with all the suspension and diff revisions, I didnt take any photos except this one after the drive down, 900km round trip leaving at 2am sunday morning, arriving at 7am, watching drifting and then trecking home in the afternoon to arrive back here at 10 at night. Was pretty wrecked haha

Got talked into going to a show with my mate in his g8gxp/vessv

Fitted some 15mm bolt on spacers which I immediately broke when bolting them down... woohoo, but said fuck it and ran them anyway along with a 3mm slip on on each side

                            Effective offset, 18x9 +14

Got an alignment and pulled castor back to 9 degrees

                            Took a photo

Every few months, my mate hosts a largish cruise called Escape To Mexico, basically a bunch of guys and girld get together and take some fun roads to a cool destination or a place for lunch along with some shenanigans along the way, this was our 4th ETM and our biggest yet at over 70 attendees

Later that week I loaded the wagon up and headed out to the track with my new alignment and lower offset.

It was a grest success! The wagon drove great, didnt break anything and shredded tyres all day also got a little extra lock out of it because I now had clearance between my wheels and tie rod ends.

Last sunday we got a couple of guys together and went for a nice drive up one of the nearby mountain ranges and had lunch at a dinky cafe, then lined up all the cars for a photo at a lookout

                            Ive also gathered quite a few parts since the last update, ill miss a few but the ones I can remember are;
232/234 torquer v2 cam along with various cam related items
243 6.0l heads that ill shave and port to bring comp up to circa 11.2:1
And I picked up a free blown mcleod rst twin plate clutch to rebuild
And the ones im most excited about
Harrop anti-tramp cover with increased capacity
                            And a Kaaz 2way lsd

Annoyingly I had my hub bolts come loose recently which bent the hub mounts on my coilovers >
Id been planning to upgrade coilovers for a while but not so soon :/
Basically my ootions were, repair and strengthen the d2s but they were 2nd hand when I got them with unknown milage so putting effort into beefing them up along with ordering custom higher rate rear springs seemed a bit of a gamble... so ive bit the bullet and ordered a set of new XYZ coilovers with 9kg springs all round (up from 7kg-f 5kg-r in the cheap d2s)
A mate offered me a good price for the d2s previously so ill repair them and sell them to him.
my next drift event is a big one, the annual 24hr drift matsuri in october.
So my mission before then is to get the new coilovers in and set up, rebuild the mcleod or buy a new clutch, get my new diff in, sort a whole lot of tyres and hopefully get the cam in and tuned.
Sorry for the poor wording and spelling errors, im writing this at 2am haha
Will hopefully have much more frequent updates from now on
