It's a head gasket people. Seriously; swap the motor because your head gasket finally gave up on a 20 year old car? It's like throwing away 11 good eggs and buying a new dozen because one was cracked when you got home.

Swapping the head gasket and machining the head is a lot of work on an engine thats not all that desirable though

A very valid point kimosabe. What if you just put a new 80 dollar head gasket on the thing and drove it for another 12 months while you did the other stuff. Then you could do the engine swap when the opportunity presents itself, not as a reaction to circumstances that were beyond your control.
