  • My New Topless Babe

    Bonjour tout le monde,

My name is Ben from Quebec.

I've been on S/W for a while now and thought i'd start a little build thread to keep track of my progress. Nothing huge but i'll try doing the best i can with my low student budget.

My first car was a 2002 b5.5 1.8T Passat wagon that i sold before winter because i was ready for something new.

After that i bought my e36 boston green 328ic vert that i can't wait to really start working on. Winter last forever this year but we're almost there. Almost a virgin to rust, which is rare as rocking horse sh*t up here and the interior is close to mint. Really happy with the overall condition of the car. Has 170xxx Kilometers (105xxx miles) on it by now.

So here is how it sits right now

I've been changing small things on it since i bought it but working when it's cold outside sucks. As you can see on the picture, i bought a used set of tails and shaded the amber red . Pretty happy with the result, at least until i get a set of oem clear tails.

Also changed the long, ugly oem antenna. My buddy gave me an antenna thats was on a toyota or something, bolt on

Finally something interesting for you guys, bought a set of Broadway Coilovers that arrived last week at my house

Figured if i wanted some good low without breaking everything on our shitty canada roads, i had to go with something pretty stiff. I'll only be putting those on the car in a month or so because i want to drive it stock a bit to see how it handles (first BMW).

    Anyways, up next is
    - Deep cleaning inside and out
    - Replacing plastic window because it's cracked
    - Wheels
    - non-m lip

    and other sh*t

    peace yo

Thanks bud. I vote for Modena's as they look a bit more modern of the two.

Okay so i went for my first little drop top ride yesterday with a buddy of mine... i think my plastic window was kinda old, dry or something. It cracked a bit after i dropped the top...

guess i'll have to buy a new one cause i really cant see shit right now.

After that i decided to clean my interior a bit. Got my seats out to get every piece of carpet clean.

Also decided to wash my cup holders and other stuff on my center console. They didn't seem that dirty but my armorall wipes told me they were!!

No pics of that but debaffled my airbox too, pretty good free mod. Nice little sound upgrade around 3000rpm!

Thought i'd share this with you guys! Saw this a couple of days ago and really liked it.

              Hâte de voir ça slammé!

I'm really partial to the Modenas, they look perfect. Not too loud but plenty of character.

In fact i really like the soft top. think i might just keep it that way. I like the hardtop look but it's not what i'm looking for, not right now at least.

Received a new front licence plate delete moulding. looks much better now.

Took my rear headrest out too, i really like the flow of the car without them.

After that... i had to figure out a way to cover the holes where the headrests were. $$ this is what i came up with

OK i know the seats seem dirty.. i'll have to figure out a way to get those black lines cleaned.
Next up was my front headlights. I used the mcguiars headlight restoration kit and it works pretty well i have to say.

                      before

                      after

now i have to buy headlight washer nozzle delete caps because i got rid of that useless crap and i started to paint my front kidneys black!

What's up guys, sorry for the lack of updates, i've been pretty busy with finals and i went on a little trip to Florida with my girl. Anyways, managed to get work done on the e36 the last few week. Got the broadways on 3 weeks ago. Gotta say they are the bomb! Really smooth drive and they can get you as low as you want.

Here is how it looks with the bws on !

I was a bit to low so my inner fender liner was rubbing on my tire, i just took a jack knife and cut out the area that caused problems. I like the result because it works fine, i didn't have to completely remove it and i don't really like the look when they are!

Next up i finally received my new rear plastic window! Wasn't to hard to install, it came with a new zipper slider and a glue type product to seal the window. 30 minutes with 2 pair of hands and voila.

Got a little diy lip installed, result is ok for now. Would love to get my hands on an AC Schnitzer non-m lip but they are so expensive, i can't really afford it right now.

So next thing is fender rolling! I've been trying to get rid of the sticky shit they put in the rear fenders to prevent rust for the past 3 days. i swear it's a PITA. Lot's of sweat and swears but i'm getting there.

When that's done, i'll be rolling my fender to fit those in cant wait.
