Hey guys, I'm new here - wanted to introduce you all to Frank, my BMW e3/Bavaria. Purchased a year ago from the original owner's grandson it has been a tumultuous few months I can tell you...
Picked him up from out of the city, driving back along the highway I can smell "lining" - not clutch - he's automatic - maybe brakes? This question is answered several seconds later when I pull over in a cloud of smoke - yep the back wheel is on fire - apparently the rear brake has been binding the whole way home!
Anyway that was the start of an expensive relationship that has so far resulted in new brakes all round, a replacement engine (3.5L M30 with megasquirt ECU) and new 5sp manual gearbox.
Next on the list - some SW action.
Got a set of Ronal Turbos for him...
Need suspension big time - like driving around in a truck at the moment. Got a few more pics...but really struggling to upload from my iMac - feel like a r'tard...shouldn't be that difficult! Want them embedded rather than attached.
Anyway, great to be here with so many like minded people! Let the fun commence.
