At that point I had basically everything I needed for the interior so I started tearing into my car on a friday and was finished by sunday. If anyone ever does something similar to this get plastic lunch bags and a marker!!! Bolts and clips for days. One good thing was I found zero rust under the carpet which made me a happy little school girl!
Jump right in..
I found this behind the dash. Im assuming one of them was the PO of my car. (the chick probably)
The guy looks like a serial killer in the bottom pic
Anyway...
since I really wasnt driving the car I figured I would make the outside uglier. I realized there was no point in installing the new door panel on the smashed door since the body shop would need the good door installed to repair the quarter panel. Sooo....
Switched the locks and alll that good shit and brought her sexy ass home
After the interior swap It sat in my driveway until spring time. I had a vision in my head of what the final result would be for the body work so during this time I started collecting parts. I didnt want to cheap out or compromise for parts I really wanted so despite my GF's aggrevation heres some of what started showing up.....
Project-G hardtop spoiler
Garage Vary front lip and headlight eyelids. Front lips for a 99-00 miata are damn near non existent in the US and the eyelids are made by the same company so these came direct from the motherland.
One thing I did cheap out on was an Ebay volt muffler for $160 bucks. Its not loud, doesnt look like a fart can and is far better looking than a rusty stock muffler hanging off the back.
The 23 year old hardtop I bought had some deep scratches on the glass (from someone dropping it in rocks Is my guess) so I made the decision to buy a new non defrost window and seal from Mazda. I knew if I left the scratched glass in that after paint it would be an eye sore so purchases were made. Even my GF agreed on this purchase
