Slambered Legacy GT: Going Wide

I have also promised to create a build thread for this new project that the car is about to undergo. So here we are. A little history with the car for those not wanting to read the other thread, I have a bit of random stuff going on. I have a built motor (useless, I know), it's slammed and cambered, going wide, paint change, doing a fwd conversion, etc.. Yes, that last part is true....

If you haven't already read my other thread, I listed several reasons as to why I am doing this drivetrain conversion;

-Staggered wheels
-I won't need longer axles for excessive camber. (Axles pull out of the rear diff with any camber past -9)
-No more replacing axles
-No more rear diff maintenance
-No more 3-wheel launches
-I can tuck my exhaust farther up in the driveshaft well
-Traction is going to be better in the front due to less camber
-Less weight (not like it matters)
-No having to replace rear trans seals

I had to raise it up a little bit, but here is what the car looked like before I sold the CCWs and put the car away for the new build :


Not everyone's style. But I like it and until your opinion pays my bills, I'm not going to care about the negative things anyone has to say.

I am not just going wide and FWD however, There are plenty of other goodies going into the build so I am going to leave you guys in suspense as I update this thread. Main parts should be in today and I will get straight to work.

So...why not RWD convert it and run less camber in the rear? I know hard parkers won't care that it's rwd but it'd be more fun to drive. I imagine you may have to notch the rear subframe (unless you have macpherson in the rear), but a little fab work never hurt anyone. Not to mention that your build motor would be useful, unlike in FWD since I think you have an open front.

Otherwise it looks cool, although the super rear camber is odd to me. Always liked these, and almost bought one instead of my impreza.

Because they geometry of the rear suspension won't allow for all the camber without the axles pulling out of the diff. If I put longer axles in, they will bind. It's just the way it is. Plus even if I did go RWD, I would never use it for fun.

Plus the built motor may be gone soon and I have someone with an STI wanting to trade long blocks with cash on top. So I am going to do that. My car only made 300whp/412wtq. So I really have no use for a built motor. A stock motor will hold that fine. And I don't have to wait 10-20 minutes for my engine to warm up so that is another plus.

As far as camber goes, it's just a style I like.

Yeah and last night, I decided that I am going sell my entire motor package which includes all of my performance parts and I am going to swap an H6 (subaru 6 cylinder) engine in and run a set of longtube headers and leave it at that. I won't have boost, but that's no matter. It'll be pretty interesting, I will save a little on gas on fill-ups, less maintenance to worry about, and it will sound good.

Probably won't be as loud, but it will sound like that.

I am still waiting on my parts to come in. They were supposed to be in yesterday so that I can get to work.

H6 swaps are sick. I wanted to swap my legacy BD with that

It will be interesting to say the least. It's either that or an EZ30 but I have my eyes set on the EG33. The EG33 will sit farther forward in the engine bay which will require my to move the fans for the radiator. But it's also the better of the 2. And it's belt driven which I would rather change over a timing chain.

Man that's awesome. Sounds like it'd be obnoxious. But I would just stick to the headers and exhaust and keep everything else stock.
