Then I made my car smell like GRAPE SODA, YA MEAN?

So basically ever since i've seen this pic i wanted to try all red taillights for a color flush look. Don't know how else to describe it.

Good thing about the taillights for the early model coopers is that the chrome trim is inside the housing unlike later ones so making them red would be easy, just go over the plastic cover. So I went ahead and ordered some red taillight tint off ebay for 9 dollars for a 1ft x 4ft piece which came in handy. I'm glad i bought a large piece because my first try looked like shit. So then I used my amazing iPhone to google how to properly install it use a rubbing alcohol mixture in a spray bottle and a credit card as a squeegee. Second try came out a lot better and the heat gun is one of my favorite and most useful tools and it helped stretch the tint over the curves and make the edges neat. the placement was a little off so a tiny bit is exposed on the top of the left light but you can't see it unless you look for it. After all the errors from the first two attempts the right lamp came out pretty nice as I finally got the hang of it.
how the rear looked before

how it looked after, orange turn signals still show a bit but only at some angles.

like this one, you dont see unless you think about it

Drove it everywhere like this

Pieced together a stud conversion kit.

Everything went kinda meh. The car had studs and bolts so i wanted to make them all the same with extended studs but most of them were rusted in. A breaker bar and stud removal tool did the trick except for one on the back that needed some heat to break loose. Also tapped all the thread to fix the rusty ones.

All together

Also got some new floor mats to replace the messed up ones it had.

Also got a stubby antenna

Here's a photo of it my friend took from the Berkeley Euro meet. Such sad wheel gap.

And the most recent thing to happen is this and they go on this week
