Just loving how your cars tuning out man , Ill be honest . I was becoming quite angry at mine but every time I see your thread it pushes me to work on mine , In any case ... thanks for the inadvertent motivation lol . Cant wait to see the wheels man . Its gonna look great !
On a scale of 1-10 how hard was the dash cover ? I picked up one but im lacking motivation to do mine cause I am a lazy ass
Shucks thanks dude! your car is awesome, keep on keepin on. the dash isn't hard, just make sure you keep track of your screws and bolts and don't just throw them on the floor board like i did and spend an hour trying to figure out what screw goes where. new dash kicks ass
I'm real bad at updating this thread so here's an update, 6 months later..
Did some maintenance stuff, real fun stuff
Car started feeling like i was steering a boat, mostly due to a worn out idler arm.. I fixed it.
bought a real nice seat
Sanded down the grip royal wheel, which was a royal pain in the ass.. Then stained it with some sort of walnut color
Then i bought a Nardi wheel and noticed all that work on the grip royal wheel was for nothing
Made a horn button for the nardi, Here's a good blurry picture of it mounted in the car
Made a leather boot for the ebrake
Found a bronzit 535is parts car on craigslist, got all excited and bought the hood and all the doors since they were in nice shape. Also scored a middle console without power seat controls for freeeee
Bought a set of 205/45 595's then visited a good friend Eli the tire wizard and had them mounted
Then Ossie came over the house and helped me grind my fenders down, we spent two days rolling and cutting the fenders
should've went with a 195
After hours of grinding and rollin my fenders into bacon i finally had enough clearance to drive on so Ossie and i jumped in the car and drove down the street to the graveyard for a quick photo. Ended up having no tire clearance with both us in the car, leaving smoke trails all down the street and to top it off my exhaust hanger snapped so my exhaust was laying on the ground throwing sparks.
The wheels are Riken's mesh potatoes, nothing to special but they were in near perfect shape and i picked them up fairly cheap
Oil pan was taking a serious beating so i ordered new motor mounts and raised the motor using a few washers under each mount. Pan sits above the sub frame now which is nice
Finally got around to changing out all four doors with the new ones, it was a real pain. Lizzy didn't help at all she just licked her butt and watched me suffer threw lining up each door
I also bought a new car and took more photos of ole gertie that ill post later
