What's going on yall
My build that i will walk you through as these next few months unfold is one not of popular nature. Some would suggest to have chosen a different chassis, and that old 81 cressi is the type to be found in the nearby junkyard for a few hundred bucks. Not nearly one worthy of dropping money into.
Reason for my choice of car is simple...its ugly and i wanna make it down right nastay. ive always had a thing for the the Japanese simplistic look of the early generations. which led me to the residence at which i purchased my new project from. as i approached the cars place of residence i notice her, sitting in the front yard with a half closed hood and flat tires all around, i was desperate to rescue the old cressida from a doomed future.
not a looker but deff has potential in my eyes.

once the trip to the barn was complete and she had been rolled into closed doors the teardown soon began.

goodbye obsolete 5me.

adios moldy discolored interior.

the good old straight six. it kind of astounded me to think that this baby still ran despite the 300k+ miles she had racked up over the last 30 years, and even with neglecting owners for that matter.
how she sits without that old cast iron heavyweight up front lol
Now seeming how information for this swap is virtually impossible to find i felt it would be best to test fit the new engine once id acquired it to get an idea what i was up against.
a glimpse of the new heart and soul of the cressida
where things stand at the moment.
just ordered a complete front sump oil pan kit, cant go much further with the swap till that arrives, then i can see what mods will be necessary for the motor mount situation. will update as often as possible i only get 2 days a week to work on her with the work schedule.
expect the next update to be a wilwood clutch assembly, and modified trans mount to fit the w54 transmission. cheers guys
