  • A few new pics. After taking the heater core out, car has been overheating because the thermostat is not functioning correctly. I am going to make a new hot feed to the thermostat to bypass. So radiator needs to come out to weld a fitting on.

Also the clock spring gave up, so I gutted it.

lol. my wife worked at a dealership and she would go back to the workshop and talk to the mechanics and she saw they pulled the engine and she asked "why?", he said "we had to change refill the wiper fluid"

at least i hope thats a funny. unless a clock spring is something important other than keeping time

        • Thanks guys, unfortunatly the clock spring doesn't go in the clock It is in the steering column assembly, it what allows you to have electronics in your steering wheel and still be able to turn the wheel. So right now I have no horn, with the Personal wheel, and radio controls, cruise etc with factory wheel.

                • It is both, it still is street legal I have even drove it to a couple local meets as is... lol I hope to get lots of track time in the car, on track wheels of corse, and the iforged ultra aggressive wheels are for fooling around on the street.

                  • So I think I have my issues sorted out. Just so you guys know, I have been battling overheating issues now that I removed the heater. I studied the flow charts etc, and look at the spare heads I have, and if you delete the bypass across the front of the motor and the heater, the t-stat never gets hot water across it to open. I tried everything from spill free funnel to, having the system pressurized and back filled. Still over heated no mater what and stat would not open.

                    So here is the solution.

4an to supply hot water from the radiator, to t-stat. I also modified the Nismo stat by removing the tiny plunger to help relieve any air that would want to get trapped.
