  • 1996 Miata M-Edition Build

Jumping straight in to Stance Works with a new build of my 96 miata. This is my first build thread for a car and hopefully it goes well and can get some recognition. I saw a few cars with the stance works stickers on the windshield while building my WRX wagon and i knew i wanted to get one. Realizing that the WRX platform wasn't for me i decided to pick up a miata and sell the Subaru. Heres some pics of both of them.

I'm going to try and keep this as updated as possible. I'm working two jobs and go to school full time but ill try to document everything as i do it.

The other night i started working on the car and this process is going to be pretty slow for now. My buddy let me borrow his Eastwood roller and i went and picked up a heat gun from harbor freight which was on sale for $9. I knew that the car had been in a slight fender bender previously and I'm hoping that it will turn out okay being that the passenger fender has a ever so small bend in the arch. And also the front bumper has a slight bend which should straighten out with some heat and a little muscle.

This is my first time rolling fenders and i think i did a decent job. The rears will be done later this week.

When my WRX is finally gone later this week ill be ordering some goodies for the Miata but until then I'm just getting the necessary little things out of the way for when my parts arrive.

Hard decision to sell a great looking WRX for a Miata.
But a nice stanced Miata can also look pretty cool, so I'm sub'd to see more of your new project

I tried out a bug eye wrx before buying my miata, you will enjoy the miata more! Nice job with the fender roller, i did my fronts with a mallet, metal was so thin it was easy! Rears roll well, but you will have to slightly hammer them upwards first to get the roll started.

Solution; keep both cars because they're both pretty rad. I look forward to this. Miatas are titties.
            Great neck

Just an update i got my Subaru pending sale for thursday. In the mean time anyone have recommendations between megan ez streets and racelands? im aware you cant go as low with megans but from what i understand the megans ride better? are they worth that much more money? or should i save it and put it towards wheels?

Nice color, and hard top too!

I'd save it for better coils. To be really low on race lands you're basically going to have no suspension travel.

My friend got these Stance super sports for his Miata for $900 shipped. They ride great and go as low as anything.

Yeah definitely it's a blast to drive and for being such a cheap car it handles great the mid corner steering feedback is insane...

Im sad to see my wagon go but it is necessary

Just another update... after a few small complications the wagon is gone here's two pictures of the last day with the car one at my buddy's house and one as it was pulling away.

Check out the M5 and the R across the street

And now its time to start ordering parts.
