  • 1996 VW Caddy

    Hi guys,

So I've been browsing this forum for 3yrs now and never really post. Saw a buddy's thread of his MK2 Jetta and decided to do one too after being here for so long.

Anyway, ride in question is a 1996 VW Caddy. I've owned it for about 5months now with a long line of other VW's being owned before this. Currently daily is a 2006 MK5 Golf 1.6.

Here she is on the day before the purchase.

Cooling fan switch was bypassed with some dodgy wire

Had these Momo wheels waiting to go on.

In her previous life before i took ownership she was a delivery vehicle for cleaning detergents and toilet paper

Rubber bands of choice were Federal Formazas in 165/50/15

came across this BBS front spoiler including mk1 gti arches in the classifieds for sale section.

Had to snap it up, unfortunately because my pickup is a "new spec" and had the later model fenders and single piece grille. These parts wouldnt fit.

Made the plan to convert the front end to "old school"

Aaaaand then came the old school fenders I was searching for. Was a good couple of months before i found a set in good condition. Stripped it off a rear ended early 80's mk1 at the scrapyard.

***** the off-white colour of the fenders...had some aerosol spray laying around. Decided to give them a random coat.

Loved the colour tho. Copper Bronze.

                              eventually had my fenders sprayed...

also, my friends were saying the caddy was looking like a Jack Russell with brown ears.
