the pos really didn't let much more air in than the stock air box was because they are cheap crappy ones off ebay and i with the muffler change i didn't notice a change but i was still having charging issues with the bike so it wasn't running at 100% at the time.

started a topic CB650 cafe racer

    CB650 cafe racer

this is my first build thread of many to come. I've had my fair share of BMWs but this is my first Honda and motorcycle. I've had this CB650 for a little over a year now and I've been slowly building it since

when i first got the bike off of craigslist of course:

when i first picked up the bike it had a charging issue. this being my first motorcycle i had no idea of anything about them and what i was getting myself into. i immediately started blinding hacking it up and trying to get it to be a little less of a cruiser style bike. spray paint was bought and the cutting began.
-i dropped the forks down to lower the front (looking back it was pretty dangerous with the forks poking out towards my face
-cut like 6 inches of the rear frame
-got rid of the stock seat and tail light
-i made a seat out of a particle board shelf and a crappy yoga matt (total pile of crap)
-i cut the exhaust pipes off (ridiculously loud)

a few months later i bought pod filters, a headlight, and some clubman bars and grips:

sitting at dinner i made a basic mock up of what i wanted my bike to look like:

i bought some exhaust pipes, a rear seat loop, exhaust wrap, put an X with electrical tape on the exhaust headlight to add some more horsepower and scene point and raised the forks back up:

took the exhaust off the prep for wrap:

welding on the rear seat loop:

by the end of the day i was finally after months and months of ownership happy with the way the look was going on the bike.

then later tragedy struck when i realize that when i make a seat that it would have to have a hump in it to follow the frame of the bike. soooo needless to say because i am very lazy progress stopped for another few months on the bike...

but then my dad told me to get the pile of crap done or he is going to throw it away or something like that.
after hours and hours of thought and ideas i decided that i would cut out a piece of card board the shape of the seat and i would tie it (using shoelaces) and use my immense skills to use fiberglass bondo the cardboard to hold the shape and then i bought a nice yoga mat this time at walmart and some batting from a fabric store and some fake leather online and upholstered the seat. it actually didn't turn out bad and i have been using it since. and i painted my take an off white color and now we are to the present state of the build:

sorry for the crappy photos. but yeah i am hopefully close to being done with this build. i am buying exhaust gaskets tomorrow, mounting the seat properly soon and placing the electronic in their places with out duct tape soon.

    thanks for looking
we'll see how it all goes
Working...
