So I decided I would start my progress thread today seeing how its currently relentlessly snowing out side

This thread is going to be the progress of my BMW 525i.
I just picked it up last week for $3000, it has 135xxx miles on it and was a one owner car.
    [IMG][/IMG]

I come from a MKIV vr6 Jetta and to be honest I know very little about BMW's. I picked up the car to daily drive seeing it is decent on gas and comfy but ... I enjoy the car a lot more then I expected so now I plan on doing a few things to show it this year and hold off on other plans that I will share someday.

    [IMG][/IMG]

Any ways plans for the 525i are,
Air ride with v2 management (ordering this week)
Get some 17 to 18 step up lips and barrels for the style 5's. (will be done around the middle of march)
    m5 bumpers.
Exhaust? (I have heard some BMW's sound decent but most sound really raspy so I will try to avoid that but would like to get a nice tone, any input on that would be great!)
    [IMG][/IMG]

And here are some photos of my mkiv, I did a full respray on it and made an exhaust, rode around on blown race-lands and had a quarter inch of clearance from sub-frame to the ground and absolutely loved every moment! still debating on selling it or just letting it sit for a while? who knows!

No worries, already been in contact with a good company I have worked with in the past they are on top of it.

Thanks man! I am going to try and keep the 5series as simple as possible with subtle features.

v2.... meh waste of money for an unreliable product..... shoulda went with a vu4 and switch speed. i personally know three people one of which being my brother . they all have had to send back there manifolds and controllers numerous times. one of my buddies is installing his fourth new manifold as i type this luckily air lift has GREAT and i mean SUPERB customer service when it comes to returns and warranties.

Loved the look of the Jetta. If you did a good job on it I assume this one will be just as awesome.

First mod should be ditching those horrendous aftermarket headlights.

Here's my old '01 525 5 speed with my exhaust setup for reference. BMW straight six engines have quite a lot of rasp. I'm also not a big fan of it, I think it sounds almost farty.

I plan on getting OEM headlights, your car sounds pretty good, I was thinking going with the magnaflow cat back seeing how its quiet but has a good tone and suppresses the rasp pretty well, might just make my own though, I weld for a living and will be getting a TIG set up for my house in a bit so I could make something of quality.
