  • Red BMW E30 Build

So recently i have put my 20th on hold and picked up a 85 325e. 20th's build thread here- http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/sh...t=46676&page=2 Back in 2009 i picked up my first e30 which happened to be my first car. I loved it to death but sold it at a price i couldn't say no too. I picked up this 325e for cheap and have big plans for it. Right now focusing on all the maintenance then paint and wheels will be next. Has 112xxx mileage

    Picture of first e30 I owned [IMG][/IMG]

Here is a list of parts that have been replaced so far. The car has been in my hands for 4 weeks, so this is my progress.

    Registration
    Oil Change
    Passenger Trim Piece
    Rear Trim Piece
    Timing Belt
    Valve Cover Gasket
    Water Pump
    Tensioner
    Intake Boot
    Valve Adjustment
    Thermostat
    Coolant Flush
    Coolant Reservoir
    Spark Plugs
    Floor Mats
    Black Pedals
    Kidney Grille
    02 Sensor
    Starter
    Coolant Temp Sensor
    Red Tail Lights
    Black Window Trims
    IS Lip
    Tightened Up Shift Linkage

The paint was so dull that when i sprayed the water on it just stuck and didn't move lol.

I was lucky enough that the car came with GC coil overs, with camber plates.

    [IMG][/IMG]

I some what brought the paint back to life, but it definitely needs a repay. Those late model bumpers are pretty faded. Need to mount the IS lip i just picked up as well.

    [IMG][/IMG]

I took the 325e emblem off, and spray the tails all red. Need to figure out what rear apron, and muffler to get as well.

    [IMG][/IMG]

I ***** the black kidneys, so went with the oem chrome.

    [IMG][/IMG]

Next, the major maintenance was done. Timing belt, water pump, etc... Ignore that ugly aluminum intake boot. Came with the car, bought the oem one.

    [IMG][/IMG]

    Old parts, bye bye!

Window trim was fading to orange... so sprayed it black. Plasti dip came out horrible, so going to just paint it flat black next.

    [IMG][/IMG]

Side shot. I need to take better pictures of this thing lol

    [IMG][/IMG]

The interior is pretty decent. Needs a new dash.. Has 10 cracks in it.... But going to wait till the exterior and engine are all complete before i start on interior. Will get pictures soon.

Here are the coils. Been busy with other parts of the car, but will lower them soon.

Here is what the rear looked like before new trim piece and red tails.

The starter recently went out.. So replaced it and it must have been faulty because it only worked the first crank. Everything installed properly and tight but no go... Ordered another so lets hope this one is good to go.

Once its running again, all the fenders will be rolled and it will be sent off to paint asap.

Thanks Alex! Once it's on the road again will smog asap. Got that new 02 sensor in so we'll see how it goes.

                              Update***

New starter installed, and ground strap from oil pan to engine. Starts so much faster and reliable.

I also maxed the rears out, and started to lower the fronts. Got passenger side, but driver side is seized on there. Will try again to loosen it up.
