    welp i just sold my W124 e320 benz to get back into a e38. I have big plans for this car and cant wait to get the ball rolling.

    As of now im forced to take car of maintenance and preventative maintenance as the motor has 190K on it. On the list as of now

    - Valve cover gaskets
    - Crank case vent (aka, intake manifold cover)
    - Intake gaskets
    - Valley pan seal/gasket
    - Water pump
    - Most of the coolant hoses
    - Expansion tank

    Once i have the motor settled and taken care of i plan on doing some other things such as;

    - Fix up interior trim pieces
    - Like to get seats rewrapped
    - Steering and suspension components (to get rid of the horrible death shake at 50-60)
    - Strut mounts
    - BROADWAY STATIC coilovers
    - WHEELS
    - Side skirts
    - Front lip of some sort
    - Replace and tint front windshield

    pics of the benz i sold;

    Now for the 740i as it currently sits

    That benz was well done up. Love the e38 platform, so much potential.

            Looks like this whole project to going in a completely different direction. With that said it is gonna be awhile for any progess. New direction is an LS swap of some sorts. With the help of some people with motor will be built for Daily Driving purposes. I have come to the conclusion to do the LS swap because with 200k miles on the current motor eventually the timing chain and guides are going to need replaced. I was quoted $7k for 27hr job on the timing chain and guides and with the quote of $700 to replace the upper oil pan i can use that money towards a swap. I figure the LS swap will be easier to work on, cheaper in the long run, and parts more common and easier to get. Im gonna start to collect parts as soon as i pick up a new daily which should be rather soon. Im looking at an older big body Benz.

              Looking forward to seeing this swap done. I have a friend that wants to swap an ls into an e46, but he's getting a little discouraged. Do you have any links for info on the swap (I know it's not the same as an e46, but just something to give him some motivation)?

                  Castro motorsport already did an ls swap into an e46, they have a thread here.
