  • How to Ruin an e21

So Im finally back in a car after a long pause, It got real old driving stock s10's and ****** life because I didnt have a car to play around with. Well once my truck blew up i knew it was time for something to go low in. So i was looking for another e30 mainly, but instead a friend (HWY HNTR) on the forum found this and sent me the link. without hesitation i went and got it the next day, and drove it 3 hours to home with no problems, this is how i got it.

After driving it a few days and doing the standard deep cleaning, tune up, and little repairs i lowered it.

After lowering it i tucked the front and rear bumpers, and then sprayed them flat black along with the kidney grills. Looks alot better IMHO

sorry, no pictures of the front bumper sprayed yet but here it is tucked.

I went ahead and sprayed the wheels also.

Then i went and wired a radio, this was probably the worst experience in my life.

Then i found these wheels for super cheap on CL and snagged them up, they are off an e10 or 2002. i like the way it looks, but needs spacers becasue the wheel hits the tie rod. How do you all feel about these? worth it to invest in spacers?

I also went a little lower in the front, i need to go lower in the rear but ran out if time. should happen this week sometime.

I apologize for the crappy photos.

Pics a bit blurry but are those hubcaps? They look like hubcaps off a 2002, steelies would be 13" and 4x100

Yes they are steelies and hubcaps off a 2002. The stock wheels on the e21s are 13's so i figured it was worth a shot. And yes 4x100. Again sorry about the pictures.

Yeah turbine's and 02 wheels are both 13's, another option is 320iS mesh wheels which are also 13's. I had an e21 till buying my 2002.

Thanks alot guys. The bus however, was too much, i bit off more than i could chew when i dug into that thing. A good friend bought it from me because i needed money for insurance for my daily. Even though it hurts now, it was probably for the best. Ill have another bay window one day and it will be dope, but for now, all i have is an e21.

But... Back to the build. I haven't put any work in today because of the stupid weather, but i did however order a new distributor cap/rotor, and spark plug wires.

Eventually i would like to swap the car but in all honestly that will be in a long while. so for now the plans are very simple.
                -Save for coilovers
                -20mm spacers for rear
                -Nice wheels.
                -LSD
                -Recaros
                -Front splitter
and then other little tid bits I'm not exactly going to announce until i get them.

depends on the look your going for but i think the 2002 hubcaps would look classy against the grey/blue exterior color of your e21.

True, i feel that they would be a great temporary setup.

Not much of an update really, but i lowered the rear a tad to even it out.

Also, the 2002 wheels have a different hub bore. and I'm not spending a lot of money to make them fit when they aren't really that special anyway so I'm going to sell them and put whatever i get for them towards other wheels i guess.

Lovin the e21 so far bro. Looks so much better lowered.

Also I wasn't feeling the hubcap wheels, looked too un-aggressive, to me at least. Need something with more lip and more aggressive fitment.
