  • E36 coupe, work in progress.

Majorly want to be working on my car but stuck at uni so I thought i'd take a break of scouring Ebay for parts and put a thread on here.

This is my E36 coupe, Effy. Only a lowly 318is, not a problem in my eyes though a lot of fun can still be had. Owned for nearly two years slowly progressing on a limited budget By the end of last summer i'd got as far as contour replica wheels, Jom coilovers and racing seat as the major mods. 15mm front spacers, Decat pipe and cat back exhaust were also fitted along with some well needed tlc. Happily the student loans company decided to sponsor me and my build, well kind of so i should be able to get properly started on modifying her.

It's currently sat in my sisters garage though due to winter and being at uni, been busy ordering parts though. List of parts ready/ideas to fit:

    17x8 XXR 522's Fronts.
17x9 XXR 522's Rears. (would like some TE37s but even XXRs are over £500 a set in the UK, a lot for my student budget, haha)
225/45 Tyres for the rears and 205/40 Tyres for the front, so not much stretch but i'm going more for a strange Jap/track car look.
Black boot lid, party to replace the knackered original, with square rear plate. No, wing.
New front arches, to replace old rusty ones.
New front control arms and tie rods.
    Polyurethane Rtab bushes.
    Dished Sparco steering wheel.
    Fog deletes.
    Modified M-tec rear diffuser.
    Black Aluminium roof spoiler.
    Front plate blank.
M-tec front lip and lower mesh.

Hopefully get that all fitted during easter, can't wait to get it on the road again Over summer i really hope to purchase a GKD supercharger kit and some better coilovers, tbh the JOMs have been fine though.

Thanks for looking anyway, i hope to update sometime soon.

Oh this is Millie my E36 318i daily, better not leave it out.

Just got the XXR's fitted and they're looking fineee Also have made some changes to the interior.

Just need to fit some rear bumpstops to stop the tyre scraping the arch.

LTW wing is in the post, looking forward to getting that fitted

Little update. fitted a new boot lid because as usual on uk cars the original one was rusty as hell, it's black because trying to find a Madeira violet one would be a pain and i'm liking the look to be honest. Also fitted new square reg plates, big bore throttle body and a new M-lip with corner splitters.

Have been doing lots of general maintenance aswell, changing fluids and stuff. She's running well now, well enough that going for a short raz around the block to check the new gearbox oil today turned into a 5 hour random cruise to nowhere just enjoying the car

Next jobs are to re mount my backbox, the original brackets are slightly bent out of alignment and its bugging me. Also need to fit my uprated 328i rear brakes and then finally get round to painting my caliper's. Also STILL waiting for my high rise spoiler to arrive

A few terrible pictures i took recently...

I've done quiet a lot of messing around with the car recently. Got the Ltw replica wing fitted. Annoyingly i could only afford to rattle can it, i hope to get the wing and boot sprayed as one soon.

Also tried some Plasti-dip on the wheels just to see if i liked them in orange, i was skeptical but once on i think it looks awesome, so will be getting them done properly in fluorescent orange soon.

Other than that i've done a few little subtle body mods and lowered it slightly more.

Took some pictures down at some docks the other day, hope you like
