yeah maybe i have some defective rear shocks, but the overall impression is that they are not up to par.. The rear keeps dropping down so low that the tires rub the top of the fender wells and the collars are cranked up about 3/4 of the way at this point… i think there is about another 3/8" of threaded area on the collars left and it'll be on the top

no response from BC. left two messages and an email…
figured it was time to show a pic or two of the 3 piece set (that I have decided not to use). don't need this nice of a wheel set on my work truck (yes thats what this is honestly)
the info:
bbs style 19 faces to start.. **** bbs style wheels because of the cheap plastic crap all over them and the flat lip/barrel combo.. There is some potential with regard to the faces though, so why not make a custom project out of them.
so that was the start of the idea generating for this project.
faces stripped, blasted, then put onto the cnc mill and the fun started.
-machined out the center bore to approx 80mm all the way through the face. then pressed in our threaded center bore sleeve design that we produce. tig welded all to the face. machined the backside to 72.5 front side flat so as to eventually sit a waffle.
-then took the faces down on the front face so as to have slightly flatter spokes
-waterjet cut four flat waffles out of some 6061 flat stock
-spinfab half height hex caps (and shown in the pics 12 pt bbs 80mm hex)
-brushed the whole thing by hand, and then machine radially from center outward.
-some custom mix translucent powder over top
-gloss everclear powder
custom 3 piece stepped wheel halves to step these up to 18" for an e46 non m
bbs 80mm logos, black hardware, mirror polished everything…
and here you have it. the set as it stands here. and is for sale if anyone has an e46 and wants to run these babies.

i didn't seal them yet so they could either be:
awd e46
18x9.5 square
rwd
18x9 and 18x10
can't remember offsets at the moment, but they were mocked up on the wagon before the wheel halves were produced. the lips are 2/2.5 and the barrels are 7/7.5. so it can either be a "faux stagger" or real stagger depending on how we assemble the halves.
ACS type2 3 piece being built at the moment not acs1.. it'll be for sale too as I'm lightening the personal collection a bunchsigpic

nope, only the type 2 at the moment. i had a thread up as i wanted to trade the type2 faces for type1 faces, but that hasn't amounted to much other than people wanting to buy the type 2s. lol
yeah i figured i would since I'm not going to use them as i intended, i wasnt going to powder the lips to match the faces and was going to wait before i assembled. The brushed and powdered lips were in the original plan, but it makes for a much easier sale with mirror polished lips and sizing that can work for a few scenarios..sigpic

Yeah its defenitly more conviennent.
I'm also looking for a set of type 1's...the set I have now is a little to agressive for how I want the car to sit ( it's fitted now but can't get it as low as I'd like). Check it out: http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/sh....php?p=1299408IG@valentinoduplan

awesome tino. we need to get you some gold plated hex for that set though as the current ones aren't doing it justice
so this weekend, did my own alignment on the car as the front end needed work, and jacked the rear up once again to lift the rears. now they are physically as high as they can go, and they likely will just keep falling. I was told maybe it was another issue with the car not the struts… so i checked everything
lower control arms are all set, upper rear shock tower isn't deformed in any way, lower and upper mounts for the springs are all good, no rust anywhere, no deformity. so its just crap suspension.. and no surprise no call back and no email still.sigpic

Thanks, yea my hex caps look huge and makes the lips look small. I saw you guys are making some for the style 5 waffles, I'm sure they're a lot shorter and would be better.
Really sucks to hear that the coilovers aren't doing the job. From what I used to read they seemed good for going very low but I guess it isn't very useful for your needs. I've had the none answering phone calls happen to me for the lips, it drove me nuts !IG@valentinoduplan

got the car all sorted out, new rear shocks and adjustment of tire pressure and all seems good to go.. Car drives like it should again, and doesnt rub at all under any circumstance at the same height with the same setup
might be putting the car up for sale as it sits, so if anyone wants a super rare combination of e46 wagon + awd + lowered + manual trans, send over a pm. Its just a feeler at the moment, but looking to get a completely stock e91...sigpic

the wagon is up for sale officially as a feeler. looking at a few e91s and decided i needed the work truck to be newer than an e46..
considering selling the wheels and tires separately and might put up a fs thread today for them separately if someone wants to grab them. the tires have about 1k miles on them, and the wheels were just powder coated as everyone saw a few posts backsigpic

new BC rear shocks on their way. At least that'll be fully sorted out whether i keep or sell the car. no time for the bs, decided to just purchase them new and not worry about warranties or anything..
found out that the black interior that i was going to swap over to is still available…. maybe i should consider this once again. haha. could be the start of something deadly…. all black interior panels, carpets, etc. and then some seats would be in order
oh and until the new custom spacers come in, some e36 m3 contours look like they may be making their way onto the car for the next week or so.sigpic
