Well, SoWo was a blast. Met some cool people.

Hot dog guy AKA Justin did several trips up and down Edelweiss Strasse on my roof.

    Rolled up with my buddy

After a wash, parked here and walked around for a while.

On Sunday they got lax about who parked where.

Hung out with Denny and Alex. Nice meeting you guys.

This is awesome. A guy in one of my classes at one of these, same color also. He said he thought about modifying it. I wish he would of after seeing this. This thing is fantastic.

I mean I was in what was nearly a gated community, I wasn't familiar with the area and he was waiting. I told him it was funny because I had just staged a photo to look like I was being pulled over, he laughed and I ended up with a warning

Yeah, OEM studs. I think a shop may have tightened lugs with an impact gun, compromising all the studs. Couldn't get ARP in time for Sowo so OEM replacements it is.

Also in the works are 2 new tires because my fronts were shot so I'm picking up 225/35 tomorrow and hopefully FINALLY lowering the car some more. Damn I need to buy some tools with my next paycheck.

Time for a new CV boot, somehow the axle itself is fine.

Also I'd like to present my project car. Fortunately the racing stripes were just a temporary thing to use up my last couple cans of plastidip from the early days of the Mazda.

Plans are low, wide, bosozuku inspired, maybe a sawzall convertible.

Well the photo shoot happened. I like how this one turned out, it's the first one that got edited. Thanks lowgto!

Meanwhile the car has been a bitch with regard to sowo prep. First a tire debeaded and then a couple of wheel studs snapped off in my lugs as I removed the wheels to lower the car. Have to deal with studs first obviously.

Oh and I got pulled over today while trying to figure this out. Don't you **** when cops sit in subdivisions to catch people who roll the stop signs situated every 100 feet?

I actually like the way the newest (2014) looks better than mine which is the 2009-2013.

Good news: Removing rear perches and spinning the front coils down after finals are over, which are kicking my ass. Then a legit photoshoot!

Just dumping a couple other pics. If not here, I dunno where else I'd do it. These are from cars and coffee.

What's wrong with looking like a dick? I do it every day

Worst case scenario, you could always have your stock bolts electroplated. That's all gold bolts are anyway, electroplated steel. You might even be able to find a DIY kit - I know there are easy DIY ways to do copper and nickel plating, there might be for gold as well.

I'd probably just do the spokes, since the area around the bolts "feels" like it belongs to the lip. I don't know if that makes sense or not.

I liked the initial phase a lot, with the G35s and particularly the Manarays, but I do think the direction you're moving in now fits the car really well. Those crazys in Thailand are doing a lot with the FWD Japanese midsize platforms these days, doing some pretty interesting VIP-style builds, and it's surprising how well they pull it off. I, for one, am hoping to see some of that style make its way to our shores, since the VIP way has gotten kind of bogged down in the same three platforms, with a lot of lovely, but similar builds. Seems like some new blood is needed, at least here in Jesus's Own United States.
