  • MX83 Cressida build aka hunting for tires

    1989 Cressida
    5 speed
    102,000 miles
    Factory hardtop
    Cut springs
    Crappy 17" wheels
    Welded diff
Stock exhaust that has rusted off
Flat green and camo paint job that is...interesting to say the least
Lots of little dents and dings
The trip to get took all day and covered almost 2/3 of the state of Washington and included a couple run-ins with the law
Heres a quick shot from the gas station on the way home, I will grab some more pics tomorrow

He more I look at this car the more hings I find that need to be fixed, gotta get he alternator swapped out tomkrrow, then its time to clean up the teri-bad wiring and rusred off exhaust, next on he list is some new shifter bushings as I dont think there are any in the car the wayit feels right now. Once my taxes come back the really fun parts will start coming in

Alternator got swapped for a new one today, gotta say that doing an alternator swap on a 7m has to be the easiest I have ever done, took me all of 20 minutes, my new clutch master cylinder came in along with a 5 panel wink mirror so those will be going on as soon as I have a couple free hours. There is a local Toyota meet on the 12th so I am sure there will be some good pics of the car coming from there, might even see if we can get a couple rolling shots just for fun. I do have some 1" wheel spacers sitting on the z I may have to borrow to get rid of the stupidly sunk in wheels, we will see what happens though

Test fit some new wheels, tires are way too big but I am digging the overall look

Looks kinda nice in the rain! Can't wait to see what it looks like once you find smaller tires

keep the tyres, cut the fenders and put on bolt-on-flares.

I dont get why people would fit iny-miny-tiny small tyres like you see on lots of these old school Japanese cars.
It's the same like boobs: They may have the right shape, but if the size ain't right, they're still small boobs

Lolol, that is damn funny man. I went with different wheels and tires all together so we will see how they fit once they get here and go from there on cutting fenders and putting on flares
