So, decided to pull the trigger on a car project. Never had one before, so why not now.

I've always fancied Toyota Coronas and Datsun 510s so when I saw this...

    I picked it up.

Well, I UHaul'ed it. As it doesn't run.

Got it home and opened up the hood.

    WTF is that!?!
So it turns out this is the last year of the 142 model and the only year with the k-tronic mechanical fuel injection system.

As it sounded like a fuel issue I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter. Didn't work.
So, now it chills in the driveway. While I figure my next move...maybe I'll wash it.

Do we Carb the low compression B20F head? or use the low compression to our advantage for a Megasquirt/Turbo combination? These things don't get low too easy, so fast may be the only option.

Dual webers maybe? EFI and ITBs? >

I have a '73 144 and went with a Mikuni carb swap, and it's good, but DO NOT be tempted to buy anything from John Parker at V-Performance- it took like 4 months for him to ship anything to me and I'm one of the lucky ones.

Damn, I was looking at his T5 Tranny swap. I'd do most the work myself. If I go to carb I'm looking to do a fiberglass/carbon fiber air manifold.

I might pick up a weber cheap and get it running on carb while I find all the parts for the megasquirt.

I did find a cool gas tank, *new* in the plastic. Too bad it is rusted...it was hiding this.

              The tank.

I plan on changing what needs to be changed. I've always been a c-10 truck guy, that is why I'm on here, because I don't want to ruin it. It's pretty nice as it is that it doesn't fall into the 'rat look' category. But might be an awesome sleeper.

I'm in Lacey, WA. know of any other guys in the area? (I see your from Oregon.) I'm new and have no friends
