Last year I bought a 2007 Volvo s40, drove it all show season and decided put it back to standard and sell it October this year due to now being (almost) 21 and able to insure a classic car. Some said it was a stupid idea but as far as I see it, I'll never have a 'modern' car again!
So here's the Volvo, I love how it looks but it just wasn't much fun...

To replace the Volvo I decided to go for a wee mk2 Golf that I saw for sale locally. I used to say I'd never buy a car that someone else had already modified but all I could see in this Golf was potential.
Here's how I bought it:

The guy I bought it off had bought it for one show then sold it straight after it was over. He changed the colour, lowered it and put the OZ turbo splits on it all in around 4 weeks I think.
Straight away I got stuck into changing it, firstly the interior had to go!
Out with the old...

In with the new... Now the trim quality isn't the best to be honest but they look much better in person than this photo and they're damn comfy so I'm happy! Bought off my friend for £400 so could be worse.

Next the front wheels were leaking quite badly so I split and rebuilt them

I noticed the coilovers weren't in the best state so I went for a cheap set at £165 just to tie me over for better things to come.

After the new coilovers were install I decided to change the fitment a bit and bought a new set of wheels while I decide on what to do with the OZ turbos (pictures of that to come later).
And lastly today I received an exciting delivery, doesn't look like much yet but wait and see.

Thanks for reading, I will try update this regularly with my progress.
