I put a base model bumper on it; I haven't found a rear one yet. Honestly, I just like them better.

I've decided to delete the sun roof, considering it doesn't work anyway. I will be riveting or bolting a piece of painted sheet metal to the roof with a lot of silicone. Should look killer and shed like 50 lbs.

picked up some no name 215/70's for the front. And gonna be moving the 225/75's to the rear temporarily, until I can get some 225/70's

This is way cool. Get those smoothies. I know you're going for apocalyptic, but the sound of silicone on the roof sounds dodgy as. Please make it as tidy as possible silicone-wise, but go crazy with rivets haha.
The biggest thing making it look soccer mom spec is the paint imo, do a vinyl wrap or failing that just rattle can it matte grey. That's my two cents worth.

Visit my build, that would be super good of you to do.

Glad you dig it. It's like you read my mind; I've been thinking of a having it painted primer grey with rhino lined rockers and bumpers much like the pic you posted.

I also might end up using a piece of thin rubber and riveting through the metal and it

Oh I completely forgot to mention I will be ordering a universal bolt on c-notch kit soon, so I can drop it another 1.5"

i need some new front shocks because I have a major bottoming out issue. They need to be really stiff. S10 front shocks should work... any suggestions?

It's about a 1/4" higher than in the pic. I had to lift it up due to clearance issues, but the smaller tires make it look lower. And no more rubbing issues. White bumper is also back on due to the fact that I destroyed the grey one. oh... and dual shocks up front, rides and handles killer.

Build a new crosmember or just take that one off and then go lower !! Looks great so far tho!

I am liking this. Have you thought of ditching the bumper cover and going for a "tube"/ square steel- style front bumper? (Maybe even rear as well.) I dont know if that would look out of place because the vehicle is dropped and usually those are spotted on lifted vehicles. It would definitely add to the whole post apocalyptic theme. Oh, and the spoiler reminds me of late 80s early 90s. My dad had an S10 blazer with one.

That's a great idea I will be building a new one and making a skid plate for the oil pan at the same time. I can't risk cracking it, since this is my DD.

I have considered a steel bumper, but the weight difference would be stupid ridiculous. Plus I don't think it would look as low with an off road style bumper

Unfortunately it's straight axle, but maybe, after I finally get a manual trans in it, I'll do 5 lug toyota front suspension, and a irs setup(don't know what from?).

would you be able to run camber shims? lots of other cars with simalar rear axles do that in order to have matching rear camber
