Best thing to do with most clear bras is to pick up a corner with a fingernail until you can grasp it with your index finger and thumb. Then, stretch the film straight back - not up, but back - parallel to the surface of the body. Stretching the film will help break the adhesive bond with the surface, and keeping stretching straight back, flat against the paint will minimize the amount of force trying to pull the paint off the metal. You'll likely have some adhesive left on your paint, which typically comes off easily enough with 3M adhesive remover in the red can.
I used to install the 3M film for a living, and removing it that way, I never once lifted factory paint off a car. That said, aftermarket paint, and particularly the terrible airbrush jobs that lot detailers do when a car gets a scrape on the lot, bonds to the surface with varying degrees of tenacity, and depending on what's on your car, it's possible you could get some paint lifting. Nevertheless, it's a much better technique than just ripping the stuff off.

Still haven't had big enough balls to pull it off...any tips would be extremely appreciated!Originally posted by Oh Damn, it's Sam View PostAwesome build! These cars have really been growing on me, particularly the early models like yours. Still can't believe the Koreans would be willing to take the risk of introducing basically a RWD sports car onto our market, but god bless 'em for doing it.
Did you ever manage to get the remainder of your clear bra off? I can give you some tips on pulling it away with minimum paint risk.

Well, got back from Blox Evolution last week and I gotta say, it was an awesome show...worth the 15 hour drive. Speaking of the drive, I got so many looks while I trailer-ed the Gen across Cali.... alotta soccer moms starring
But I got the lip on right before the show and got badged by Chapter 11 right before as well. Also used my spare vanity plate as a visor on my passenger side. With the lip on, I sit the bumper on the pavement when I air down...
'been wanting to do that for awhile now.
At the show:
And the picture that means the most...the one posted by StanceNation in their coverage. As stupid as it may sound, this has been a dream of mine for awhile now, well before my civic. Don't really know why, but it has and it felt great seeing my car there.
Got bored at the show, so I made my passenger side dash covered in bumper stickers...

Thank you! And really? Damn. I need to get around to dynoing mine...Originally posted by rice4life View PostYeah, I saw them a while ago, but I've been broke as fuck since I got the car tuned. My buddy put down 240rwhp on a dynojet in 90 degree weather with the same tune with an intake, test pipe, and catback. The stock clutch is still holding just fine too
Those red seats make me sooooo jelly. I love the Hawaiian theme going on, it looks awesome.
When are you going to get on your build thread?!!!

Couple updates! Went on a cruise/hangout/BBQ with some friends at Chapter 11 227 and have a couple nice pictures from it!

Also finally got my interior somewhat together. Still need a wheel, harnesses, and rear seat delete....then I'll be happy haha. But I am liking this subtle Hawaiian theme!

Front lip is being painted currently so that'll be on soon. Car is heading to SF on Friday for Evolution! Anyone from S/W going to be there? Love to meet some new people!
