  • VW Gol - Brazilian Stance

Hello guys. My name is Paul, I'm 22 years old and I've been following you guys at Stanceworks since 2009.
Since then I always wanted to build a stanced car, but never had the money to start that.
This year I saved some money and I just bought this 95' VW Gol (I think this only exists here in Brazil) and now I wanna do some kind of eurolook but with some stance.
Since I got it really cheap (for us, obviously, for you guys, this car costs about $3000, doing the exchange), obviously it has some scratches and it's a little bit screwed, but I'm sure that with your help I can build a really good looking car. ^^

I would really appreciate some advices from you, badass stance builders, out there.

So, here I got some pictures at the place where I bought it, hope you like it.

Haven't seen one of these before! Engine placement makes it look RWD? That'd be cool

      Hey, sup ^^

That's a CHT 1.6 L engine. It was made by Ford in 90's, then bought by VW later. VW and Ford used to be known as Autolatina, in 1987. They used to swap engines a lot, like the CHT and AP (very well known engine here).

It has 4 cylinders and can develop something around 80 BHP.

            Hello sir!

My main plan is to do something with a set of 15" BBS RS, some stretched tyres, maybe lower it a bit with coilovers...

            Something like this:

On Monday, 9th, the car will be at the paint shop, and I'm thinking about the color I should paint it... I was thinking about some candy color, or maybe black or white? Don't know yet...

is cool see other people from Brazil, let's talk about the car ... Gol is a very popular car here in Brazil, and much used in racing, creating a very large market. The engine of this car is called here as "AP" and its acronym stands for Alta Performance (High Performance in english) and can handle a lot of boost pressure ... It would be nice to put an AP 2.0 or VR6 ...

              (sorry for my english)

Hello Felipe. Thanks for sharing those information!

Yeah, this is a really loved car down here in Brazil and we have a lot of good examples.

This one has the CHT engine tho.

I was thinking about the Golf MK3 GTi engine, but don't know if it's possible.
If I can't do that, maybe I will get an AP engine and put a turbo on it.

I want something to drive daily, with something around 200 BHP. Just to remember that this car has only 970 kg (about 2k pounds), so it's pretty light and that means that I don't need much power to make it run good.

                          Some updates!

On Monday I will be driving to a friend's house where the car will be painted, so this probably will be my last pictures of it before I go there.

Today I went to a lot of shops to buy some stuff for it, I will take some pictures later.

I bought some new headlights, VW logos, coilovers and a new exhaust system.
I will buy the BBS wheels later, because I still didn't find anyone here that knows how to stretch tyres properly lol

I was thinking about doing a shaved engine bay, maybe when the car comes back from the painting shop.
