So last weekend, Saturday, Me and my friend Eiğur drove 800km (400km each way) to buy a new drift project for me.
BMW E36 320i with a M50B25 non-vanos engine and a ZF gearbox.
3.07 LSD and more goodies.
Hopefully it will be ready for next season here in Iceland, alot of work ahead.
I picked up Eiğur at 8:30 in the morning, went to our garage and picked up some tools and wintertires. And then began our journey from Kópavogur, the south west side, to the North side of Iceland to a town called Akureyri.
The weather in the beginning was very nice, sun and nearly no clouds in the sky. When we arrived at Borgarnes our first stop, there were slippery spots everywhere but after that it was pretty clear until we drove across Öxnadalsheiği, the road was very icy and the night before there was a car rollover there.
We drove responsible and arrived at Akueyri at exactly 13:37 local time.
Found the car and checked it out. Changed the wheels since the white wheels didnt come with the deal, and installed 15" wheels with wintertires on, for the journey back.
After the papers had been signed and the deal complete, we drove off and went to a restaurant called Greifinn, and had a delicious pizza because we were so hungry.
So the journey back began, first stop, gasstation, filled it up and went on. The weather back was a complete turnaround, weather was constantly changing, rain, snow and ice everywhere on the road, wich caused the car rear end to dance around, but nothing that i couldnt handle. And ofcourse the car was in the lowest setting and camber settings wrong, that didnt help. But we arrived in Kopavogur safely. The drive front and back was 10 hours and i was pretty tired. But well worth, its fun to take a roadtrip once in a while
Here is a video if anyones interested, Eiğur both filmed and edited
