Hey Stanceworks members, been lurking around the forums have been reading so many awesome build threads, so I want to start my own. Little background; I'm currently 19 attending a local community college and working as a hydro-ceramic technician as I like to call it (I'm just a fucking dish-washer) at a nearby hospital. Anyway when I turned 16, starting working at said job and saved up enough to buy myself a cheap little daily commuter. I bought this car for 2 reasons: reliability and good mpg. So as a young 16 year old with not much money to my name and having played a lot of Need for Speed and such I starting working on my car with all the wrong ideas in my head. But honestly I feel this is how a lot of kids these days get into building cars, so it's just a phase and better things come as you will see.
Here she is the day I bought her
Sorry for crappy pictures...theres a lot of em
1996 Honda Accord Lx
144,000 miles
Manual transmission
2.2L non vtec
Power: 130 hp
Torque: 139 lb-ft

Within a few days I already started working on her. Started by cleaning up the steelies with a fresh coat of black, stripped out the ugly red seat, floor, and wheel covers and purchased a set of BWR lowering springs rated at 2in drop. Those lowering springs were the stepping stones...

How it sat on the lowering springs

During the summer of 2011 I decided to give my car a fresh coat of paint myself. I bought some spray guns, sandpaper, primer, paints..the works and got busy.

After some primer

After base coat with clear

All back together. The bad news is my inexperience with painting a car and a shitty air compressor caused all the paint to orange peel. The ENTIRE car is orange peeled and the paint is too thin to fix. So I'm stuck with that for awhile

Bought some Megan Racing EZ Streets to get my car grounded

Much better

Needed new headlights desperately! Picked these up for $100

and an HID conversion kit...my OEM lights were shit.

Now I am not a fan of the 'farting' honda's with 5 inch cannons sticking out the back so I took my time in searching for a nice exhaust system with a respectable sound. Nothing raspy for my car!
Magnaflow Cat-back exhaust system and new OEM cat with o2 sensor

So glad my buddy gave me a hand and let me borrow his awesome hydraulic car lift. Definitely buying one of these for my own garage one day.

Was so tired of looking at the steelies that I impulse bought these wheels off a guy on craigslist for $600 with fairly new tires. They are XXR 532 15x8 +20 with hankook v2 195/50 series

Fitted

Bought a 94-97 accord SiR lip and went a little lower...

Pretty pleased with the results... just wish I could get some bigger side skirts to tie it all together nicer.
This came in the mail!

Quickly got to work

Now with all aftermarket steering wheels the SRS light will come on which means the passenger side airbag will not deploy. This is not ok with me. So I did some research and learned you can bypass the system using a resistor.

Going to get a pick of the steering wheel mounted on the car soon...
Alternator went recently..explains all the electrical problems.
