It's getting closer. Also seen here are the new 17" wheels.

Glad this thread was resurrected. I was totally unaware that it existed and this is one of my favorite cars ever made.

Yep. Still have it. I do have some bad news though. The whole car went to the paint shop last October. This shop is a one man operation and he's painted everything including quarter million dollar Ferraris and some of the rarest Corvettes in the world. He got the whole car painted and cleared. By December it was ready to be block sanded and buffed. A couple days before he was set to start sanding, the painter had some medical problems that put him in the hospital for awhile. He's still recovering and the Cougar has just been sitting in his shop since. We're unsure of when it will finally be done. It may end up having to be finished by someone else so it get on the road.

    Body work is going slowly...

Hood is almost done. Needs a little more filling on the scoop, and one last coat of etching primer.

Body got a little done as well.

Still shooting to have it done by the end of this summer.

Little update. It's running great and he's actually been driving it around the neighborhood. Everything is working just as it should. It now has a hood on it:

Although obviously it needs some fitting, a hole cut in it, and the scoop bolted on. Good news is the painter says he has the trunk lid and valances ready and wants to get a start on the rest of the car in about 2 weeks! If that actually happens, the car should be ready this summer.

Here are some videos. Sorry they're pretty crappy/far away. The last one is the best. When he got out of the car the first thing he said was "That's one mean little bitch!'

    The final stance:

It's now ready for body and paint. Which is just a waiting game. The painter has been focusing all of his work on a '68 Ferrari Dino.

It ALMOST went for a drive. It got to here:

And bottomed out. A slammed as shit S2000 went in and out of that shop like 20 minutes before this, but the Cougar's exhaust in a lot lower, and that's what was getting hung up.

But the Cougar's suspension settled A LOT more than we were expecting. (It's way lower than it looks in pictures) It's going to be raised just a bit, but don't worry, it's still going to have battle stance status. Before that happens, here a couple pictures of how it sits right now:
