Got some work done on the MalibuTook the fenders out a good bit to fully tuck the 10.5s in back. Had to clear the bag up front and it's extremely tight so I got some 5mm spacers up front and then took the front fenders out a good bit too.
Now the front and back can fully air out without much stopping it. Still have some plastic to trim to allow full travel though.
It's almost ready for paint!
Back gets naasty now.
More pics soon of it laying out10' Bagged Malibu

I took my already hydrodipped engine cover, air filter cover, and plastics and sprayed them in my custom chameleon mix I'm using on my whole car. I only did 3 light coats to give it a subtle pop and still have the skull print visible through it.
After I put in the filter cover and engine cover I noticed some silver peeking through under the plastic in front. So I left it off and liquid wrapped it satin black. Nothing will be left silver on this car in 2 weeks so this had to be done anyways

Finally got my baby sprayedI mixed 6 different pigments to get the overall flip I wanted and it came out way better than I hoped.
Vossens were sprayed Gangsta black, trim blacked out, roof blacked out, under hood pieces sprayed to color match, calipers in the matching color shift with gloss topcoats.
I also went through a rebrand with my company and announced it when I debuted the MalibuThe new company name is The Auto Skin LLC. www.theautoskin.com! More to come from us out of central florida!

As an ex-DYC contributor, I'm glad people are starting to realize nothing beats a quality paint job and the plastidip craze is dying out.
I lay it like glass and use a professional setup at my shop unlike most DYC installers that use plastic guns. Plus the new gloss that released changed the game.....I can now get my gloss looking like glass.
No need for "Real Paint" if you can't tell the difference between the 2
Thanks though bro! I am doing gloss topcoats in 2 weeks on it, I will repost some pics as I get em for ya!10' Bagged Malibu

Even with the new gloss you can clearly tell it is not paint. It's shiny, but looks like a car that needs to be wet-sanded still.
I've plastidipped a few cars with a pro paint gun setup, and a few with the earlex. I understand you are making this into a business so you have to defend it but for the price I'm sure you charge for something with custom pigment and the new clear coat ($90, ouch, and I know you get a discount as a installer as I was before) you are halfway to a real paint job in cost that actually increases the value of the car.
Edit: Don't get me wrong if it's a low budget build, I say plastidip works if its in your budget. But for a nicer car like yours I would like to see a quality paint job. I think it would make your car present way better, in my opinion, and its just that my opinion. Either way I'm sure it will look good.Last edited by Skraight.; 04-02-2015, 03:24 PM.

I'll be very interested to see this once there's some gloss on there. I've seen a lot of vinyl and dip jobs, and even with the new high-gloss stuff that's on the market, I've yet to see one with the depth and clarity of paint. I'm very interested in being proven wrong, however.
I like the tone of the finish you've chosen a lot, but I do think it's aching for some deep gloss to really make it pop.

This thing is beautiful. It will look even better if you got it painted the same color. My friend has an '09 that I've been trying to get him to do something to it. Just might have to show him your build. Keep it up.
