  • 7th Generation toyota celica

Alright hi everyone, i made an intro thread a couple months back, but honestly i never really bothered posting on here too much as not much was done to the car, but that's changed so i figured this was an excuse to make a small build :naughty:

alright, the journey started out last summer when i was entering my senior year of high school, and have been saving up for a car for the past few years.

so i thought about a few cars that would be
    good insurance rates
    decent gas milage
    and also fun to drive

so i picked a celica, while it wasn't my first choice, i got a great deal, and the insurance doesn't break the bank, and i still have money to throw into the car.

the day i bought the car in pittsburg

the first thing i decided to do the car was lower it, i just ***** how high the car looked whenever i walked towards it, so i got a set of lowering springs to make it look a bit better in my opinion

then (regrettably), i went through the stages of rice, i decided to paint a stripe down my hood, and then shorty after i bought a used carbon fiber hood as i didn't like the stripe anymore

then i decided to make the front bumper appear a bit cleaner, and filled in the license plate holder with some fiberglass and bondo.

then i decided to upgrade to coilovers to get much more needed low

the current interior of the car sits like this, except for the floor mats are now new OEM

then after a few months, i got the stock rims painted white as i think white+blue is a great color combo, so

now the celica runs into problems with trying and getting the front to get really damn low, which is what i wanted, as the bottom of the strut collieds with the CV boot when you're trying to get low

to fix this, i got shorter swift springs with a custom spring rate of 10k

then i got a set of (shitty) xxr rims with the specs of 18x8.75+20, running 215/40 tires.

peeled off the plastidip left from old owner due to how shitty it was to keep clean, left with silver

then my engine bent a valve, at first i thought it would be a simple fix.....not exactly

after removing the head, i saw a massive amount of scorching throughout the cylinder walls, and noticed that the bent valve totally fucked up the piston it hit

so at that point i was like "fuck, i need a new engine"

so i decided to make the most of it

i bought a used head, and decided to build it up, new valves, new springs, new crower cams, and then sent the head off to get cleaned up and checked for clearances

then i searched around junk yards for a used block with low mile 2zz, which is next to impossible

so i manned up and decided to buy a brand new block from toyota with 0 miles
and then proceeded to buy new pistons, new crank, new oil pump, to ensure i am truly putting in a brand new engine all around

now currently i am reassembling the engine in my garage and adding all the parts together so i can hopefully drop in the completed built engine by next weekend as this car is my daily

onto the new set of rims as obviously i don't plan on keeping the xxr's for long, i am in a group buy for a set of custom 18x10+25 5x100 work XD9's, which should be ready by the middle of summer, and can ditch the shitty xxr's lol

this is where the car now sits

obviously without the engine, the car sits a bit higher lol, so yeah, this is my build and i plan on keeping you all posted on the build with the engine, as well as the work wheels when i finally get those

: the guy at the shop suggested it but the fab work to get that into a celica is way above what i can ever even hope to achieve.
