Today was an adventure LOL....what I originally thought was the oilpan was not the source of the oil leak. The cam and crank seals are notorious for leaking in these things when they are skipped over during the 90k service. My seals...are original. 217k, 22+ years old. Bone dry and wedged in there so tight i took a chunk of skin out of my finger trying to remove the bastards.

The oil pump housing had enough oil on it alone and the gasket material,so loose/oil soaked along with the large volume of oil we have seen on previous occasions to finally make the decision i dreaded all along...pull the oil pump housing off the block and see what is going down.

A few random shots of the cam pulleys and the oil dripping behind them/on them

heres a few of the Oil pump housing prior to removal.

Heres the oil pan being dropped and the housing removed

and a few of the inside of the block.

not a shred of metal to be found anywhere. pretty damn clean to be honest. that coupled with the good numbers from the comp test i had done before all this shit started... starts to get the lightbulb going....the pennies are moving into diff accounts lol....just saying i might give her the Gary mod. scare some folk and break some shit

Updates ERMAHGERD. yea i know been forever lols. Finally got the car towed to work and spent some time working on it today. Found that its been running on 6 cylinders at best AND the timing is off by a good bit. No wonder it ran like a bag of assholes.
In she rolls off the tow truck....

This is the timing cover covered in oil. the seals have been pouring oil for some time. last time the job was done 100 years ago they used a napa timing belt. whatever works right?

This is the front before and after Alternator/PS pump removal. PO had told me they had the combo replaced and it was still leaking. The area between res and pump seem clean so i removed the air control valve and am now in search of a drain plug that will fit. I dont have access to a welder so i cant just crack the old plastic acv and weld the end shut.

Spending my entire day off tomorrow at shop from open to close. I want this thing pretty buttoned up by nightfall.

Was gonna do some work over the holidays but a 3 day alcohol buzz and it being cold said fuck you to that idea. oh well. been eyeballing some wheels....math makes my brain hurt tho so figuring out offsets and backspacing and all that shit is maddening. besides no point in shopping wheels , until the car is low. no point in lows until she runs. sooooo all in all i got nowhere -___- come on spring/warms. hurry the fuck up and get here

Plug wires came in. Rockauto is dirt cheap. Will finally start the shenanigans when I can source a big ass tube of the Toyota fipg stuff. Apparently rtv sucks? Don't want to do the job twice. Much rather do it right the first time

No, I don't have to buy a new car. You however need to go find a new thread to crap in.

I backed her up into the garage while the homeowner is away for a few days. Shes leaking pretty darn bad. While i was warming the block i got under there and CLEARLY saw it pushing out oil at a good rate right where the bottom of the timing cover and upper oil pan gasket meet. huge puddle of oil even with the cardboard.

Heres my wife holding the plugs that came out of that thing. holy hell they are either original or the ones they threw in when it had the first set changed a million years ago. The tubes have this fucked up scale shit all over them. Can those tubes be replaced?? wtf >_<

Good news for the night is that shes reading pretty good numbers across the board on a dry compression test. Factory is like 178, 154 is FUBAR - i was reading 164 to 175. Gonna try and see if i can get some of this shit ordered up in the next couple of hours so i can pick it up or have it delivered FAST. i wanna do whats absolutely necessary ASAP. the radiator i think will HAVE to wait.
