Finally was able to get it to fire up, I mean how much more simple does it get than this engine? New carb linkage was a little tweaked, and coils neg were switched, but it's under it's own power and cruising the hood.... and yes it needs to go LOWER... and yes it's got positive camber on the front now (Waiting for the 12mm stuko) Working on it, still waiting on the damn leaf springs...
A better picture of the seats outside.

Had a great weekend, took the family out for the first maiden voyage in the Trabi to Raid on the Bay 2 at Sandy Point State Park (Mainly VW Air cooled show). Made it there and back twice loaded up, seemed to cruise comfortably at 85kmh, not sure it had much after that, did notice when I got home one spark plug spun out a hair... Everything is coming together for the trabant parade, still waiting on my leaf springs to arrive and the 12mm camber for the front. Slight fuel leak on the petcock, but other than that all good, might even have to drive it to work this week once!

Well the leaf springs showed up this past weekend with the 12mm camber correction for the front. I went for the modest 120mm drop as I was a bit nervous about going too much further and making the car not usable with the family (I keep forgetting this is my wife's car). Hopefully I'll have time to pop these on one night this week. Last picture was a trip to Cars and Coffee in Annapolis. Gathered a lot of interest. Some of the Ferrari owners were not excited, actually had one park next to me, then move it across the parking lot, lol. On a separate note, Trabi is now hitting 110kmh.

Buddy helped me pop on the leafs yesterday. So it was a 4-5" drop. Rear I am happy with, front I wish could come down another 1 or 2. And now it is apparent I need some healthy spacers as well cause they are pretty tucked. I think I have a good 1-2" till tire would be flush with outer fender lip. But overall I am happy, way stiffer, and I got new lowered shocks on it. Also fixed my leaky petcock with some aviation seal. Getting close to being done, I still want to dip the roof black since it's got a bunch of nicks/chips. I think it would compliment the car good.
I'll get some overall shots probably next week. I think I am gonna go ahead and paint the wheels on the other side while it's in the garage. Anyway, thoughts on roof going black?

Here is pictures from this past weekend at the Trabant Parade, held at the Spy Museum in DC. I didn't get everything I wanted done, and it was my first time taking my daughter to a car show that lasted over 2 hours... this was almost a 8 hour day, but she had fun cruising around chinatown, etc. But I was wore out by the end of the day!

Recently took my daughter up to the local cruise in (Marley Station). Had a good time, other than having to push start the car leaving... Nothing like a 2 week old rebuilt starter. Not much new to report on the car, may play around with it this winter, I do want to paint the roof black. Been tempted to dip the car a light tan, but we will see. Wife's car really, so rather dump the money into my Mini. Anyway, here's a pic:
