here is a photo of me drifting corner four at shannonville. pretty wild corner, its down hill and decreasing radius, so you have to go in third, some ebrake but i clutch kick, then get down into second and keep it pinned while cranking angle to not fly off track and die to get through. this is the corner that most people roll on.

better photo of the seat and harness:
and another photo of some stuff i still have to install:
thats an HID Kit, racing seat/harness (for my little brother, he's 12 and is stuck being into 'cool' sports like soccer etc), aluminum 30mm z32s, and aluminum rad. that along with the battery in the trunk, engine timing and alignment and the car will be done! I plan to put it on the road in about 17 days, but its too snowy to work on it right now.

hey dudes, got some updates. was able to pull some more strings for some more shop time, so I was able to hustle and get a shit ton done today.
I managed to get all the major stuff out of the way: battery relocate (to back seat), efans wired in, HIDs, inner tie rods with rack spacers, z32 brake upgrade, overall bolt check, fuel filter, spark plugs, and new rad.
my little brother was hangin around ,so i put him to work putting my stickers on.
anyway, so remember that misfiring issue i was talking about? Decided its 90% ignition timing, so we start the car, move it out of the way and set the ass out the door, letting it run and get to operating temp. as its warming up i start sort of cleaning up, adding water to the cooling system.. finishing touches and shit. I thought i was going to be able to drive it around afterwards.
So im doing all of this when i notice a giant puddle of some sort of fluid on the ground, and i instantly assume the worst... oil
turns out it wasnt, but i almost wish it was -_-
high pressure power steering line must have exploded while I was moving shit around to install my fans. so i can't run the car, or ill cook the pump. not being able to run the car=no spark timing=no nothing. so that really sucks. super shitty, i felt like i was so close. i haven't felt this discouraged in a while.
so to lift my spirits and remotivate, i put on all my aero and took a look
steve even let me try out his wing
i think one of these might be in the future plans........................................

drove it home todayfirst time driving since I took it off the road last year!!
the best word to describe this thing is abrasive. it leaves you no option but to pay attention. surging idle is super cool, but shitty while you're actually driving low in the rev range. seems to pull a bit harder though, which is nice.
next on the list is find my hood pins/install them, get white HID's (on the way), sell old parts, get front tires, align this bitch, and extend my tie rod ends for more threads.

so since i did not modify my knuckles, the only combination of inner/outer tie rod I could get was SPL Outers with Tein Z33 inners, with a rack spacer; Z33 because they're substantially shorter than S14. SPL outers are also way way longer than stock.
So since I was getting my control arms extended 30mm I needed the longer outer. which lead to me getting the shorter inner. feel me?
so I get em all installed and steve points out that im at the end of the threads on both the heim/shank side and inner tie rod side of the spl outers. Which is scary. Having only two or three threads on a tie rod is deadly. I dont want to hit a bump and have that shit go flying. and that was just eyeballing it; what if im not even at zero toe?
So i started spitballing solutions.
1) Weld nut onto the end of the center hex of the outer tie rod
2)Cut the hex piece down the center, weld a piece of metal tubing in the middle
I opted for option 2 since
A) it would be much stronger
B) aluminum bolts are tough to find
C)I got a piece of aluminum tubing thats the exact size of the outer for 2$
I opted to have them lengthened one inch on each side; plan of attack was to cut them right down the center and weld the tube in the center, using a spare tie rod to keep everything all lined up.
onto the pics
spl tie rod end for reference; the black part is what we had to extend
we threaded one half + the tube onto the cut off threads of a random z33 inner i had lying around (dont ask), welded it together, then flipped it and did the same to the other side.
here it is done
SO.
if you have an s14, want some more lock and poke and extend your control arms 30+mm, and want to keep stock knuckles, what you need is SPL outers, with a longer hex piece (either do this or take the piece to a machine shop to be replicated), and z33 inners with a rack spacer.
I spent months trying to fucking google that shit and ended up just having to find out the hard way, so hopefully this helps someone out in the future

yo! car works.
got my power steering figured out, ended up using an s13 hard return line, and cutting the rubber hose short, securing it with some hose clamps. I was driving to get gas the other day, just testing it out, when i realized that my car was overheating like a bitch. couldn't figure out why. then i realized that in all the running around trying to get my ps fixed, i forgot to bleed the cooling system. so i did that, got yelled at by one of my neighbors for idling my car (630pm on a saturday lol) and now we here.
had to remove a 5mm slip on spacer in the front though( i dont think anyone will notice though
lazer alignment and tires this weekend. i got a tire sponsor too, so hopefully i can get some actually good fronts.
