If you did the entire roof as a brown color though, holy beans and gravy you'd make this 10 an 11!

Some parts came in last week and more parts are on order, like a steering wheel!

                  10 gallon gas tank

new door cards for front and back

Along with the door cards, i got new outer door handles, seals for the exterior lighting and rear bumper brackets.

Still to be ordered is rear shocks, (possibly) adjustable rear torsion arms, additional seals for other random bits on the car.

Things to fabbed up... fuel tank mounting plate, section off the front for radiator, exhaust, intake (turbo to intake manifold) and front skid plate.

The car is still sitting outside getting some fresh air while we finish up the prep work on this '75 convertible super beetle. When it leaves for paint the Ghia comes back in.

                            • Now that I know the engine ACTUALLY runs, it's time to get other neccessary tasks under way...Door panels went on saturday night

And I started on the fuel tank!

Since I've decided to not use the original tank, I have to make a platform for the fuel cylinder. I used the Ghia gas tank bolts and made acouple supports.

Another part of this fuel tank mounting plate was to incorperate it as a means to seal off the front section where the Radiator is. That way the air passing through the rad will get directed down and out of the car instead of flowing through the "luggage compartment" and making for some unneccesary drafts inside the cab of the car.

So I started bending some steel... It would have been awesome if I had a brake and shear. Instead, my hands and a vise worked pretty good!

Now when the hood is closed, it will seal off the front from the back!

As well, all the steel is mounted to the 2 metal braces so all I have to do is unbolt the four bolts and the whole piece will come out!

Theres still some tweaking to do with it. But it will soon be painted and installed for good!
